The root cause was the front glides. They were virtually gone, and the drum was on metal to metal. So I replaced them with a front glide kit. I also replaced the belt, rear rollers, and lint screen. Took a screw driver lifted the top, Unscrewed two screws holding the front on the inside of the dryer one to left and one to the right. Laid the front on the floor and removed to other screws holding the collector in place, popped out old one cleaned all the lint and dust and popped the new one in put the new seal in place and done ! When I pulled out the dryer from the wall, I could see dust/lint had accumulated everywhere and the vent system was compromised. I vacuumed up the dust/lint accumulation outside and then inside the vent system. I then opened the lower cabinet to clean and check its condition. First time DIY dryer repair. Videos very helpful! Remove front. Found glides worn thin, paint on drum removed where glides located. Drum, cage and motor turned easily - must be OK.
