Refrigerator light switch broken. W W. • Bettendorf , IA • April 20, 2020
I ordered a new switch from APP and fixed my fridge.
However, the video posted for this repair on this site is not applicable to newer refrigerator models.
I have a 2015 GE GTE18IHCRSS and had to drop the control housing (#432 in the diagram) to attach the wire/plug assembly to the switch. Only had to remove the front screw with a 1/4" nut driver and that provided enough of a gap for me to plug in the switch.
So the correct method to replace the light switch in a newer model refrigerator is as...

The icemaker water inlet valve wouldn't close properly so water was constantly leaking into the refrigerator Ronald W. • Sagaponack , NY • September 10, 2016
I replaced the water inlet valve. The toughest part was closing off the feed line while I waited for the valve to be delivered. The needle valve used to install the feed line wouldn't close completely. I ended up fabricating a plug from some parts from the hardware store.
The mounting bracket on the new valve was completely different from the original, but it still mounted easily enough. The 1/4" plastic hose fitting was a different type from the original, but the hose fitted into it easily...

I changed the motherboard - computer and also changed the motor in the freezer, because it was doing a howling sound every time it turned on. The repair technician asked for $500 for a repair and that is on top of the $230 I paid him two days before. I looked up the parts and decided to try myself and it paid off. Great instructional videos. Thanks

I googled the issue and read several articles. Most started with cleaning the coils (which mine are on the bottom) (19yr old Kenmore 363.9557812). I had not really ever cleaned them well, vacuuming did little. I had to remove the cardboard cover off the back of the frig, and blew them clean (front to back). Once that was done, I started cleaning from the back and noticed the fan wasn't turning week (condensor fan). Blew it out too, have it a good soon with a pencil, it puffed out a bunch of...

Broken fan blade Thomas H. • West Blocton , AL • April 21, 2014
I used a set of ring pliers to remove the old retaining ring, then spread the plastic ribs around the fan motor shaft with a small flat bladed screwdriver to ease removal of the old fan blade. Old plastic water line broke and i broke the valve trying to pull the end of the water line out Ronald W. • Sagaponack , NY • May 13, 2017
