Replacement of the element was relatively straightforward, but there are a couple of things to be aware of before you begin. First, turn off power to the stove at the breaker box. Allow the cooktop to raise by removing the two screws that secures it on the underside of the front edge. Open the oven door to do this. Had to pull double oven and range top out from wall which involved removing the upper kitchen cabinet. Took the sheet metal off the back and had the socket swapped out in a couple of minutes. My old oven works like a charm! Read more

I purchased 2 new light rocker switches, Because the heating element rocker switch was unavailable. First I removed the power source for safety. Then I simply pulled each switch out individually with a flathead screwdriver for leverage. I simply unplugged the wires from the old rocker switch, discarded the old rocker, plugged the wires into the new rocker switch, and pushed the new switch appropriately back into the control panel.
