First, I took an ohm reading across the elements and determined the bad one, which was failed, open circuit. (Zero continuity) I then replaced the lower heating element of the upper oven. Although the design of the oven and element make it appear that it will just drop down and slide out the front, this is not quite the case. Had to pull double oven and range top out from wall which involved removing the upper kitchen cabinet. Took the sheet metal off the back and had the socket swapped out in a couple of minutes. My old oven works like a charm! Read more

I replaced it with an new motor-convection from AplliancePartsPros.com. One note of advice: the fan blade unit inside the oven is held on by being tightened counter clockwise and obviously loosened by turning the nut clockwise (lefty loosey/righty tighty does not apply here). Read more
