To drop the complete vent assembly you must first unplug the unit. On each side, left and right, remove 4 screws. Be sure not to loosen screws by covering the stove with blanket or large towel. Make sure you don’t let it drop have someone hold till last screws are out. Drop front down and disconnect 2 wires one is a squeeze clip type. Removed 8 screws from bottom panel on microwave. Pulled two prong plug off old motor. Read supplied voltage off motor decal and tested for it. Deemed motor to be bad and changed it. Works great. After tearing old motor apart it seems a liquid got in there from inside microwave. No seal on motor. Bad design flaw in my opinion. Read more

Careful placement of new screws into the inside of the outer door that now hold the frame assembly to the door secured the frame assembly to the outer door. I ordered the parts for the assembly (motor, fan, and support), and replaced them and this fixed the problem. It took about 10 minutes to replace the parts, but lowering the unit and disassembly took around 45 minutes. The most difficult part was getting the outer sheet metal cover back on after the repair, as it has a bunch of clips on each front edge that need to... Read more
