Ice cube dispenser/flap was broken not actuating the ice bucket motor. Peter P. • Sonoma , CA • July 24, 2023
Ice Door Kit, Control Bracket, and Ice Dispenser Guide were purchased. I followed two videos on replacing the parts. The Alumilastic Cement is an OEM part for Whirlpool appliances, typically used in refrigerators and freezers. It serves as a thermal mastic compound, designed to provide a secure and heat-conductive bond between various components, such as evaporator coils and the interior walls of the appliance.
Causes of a bad alumilastic cement can include drying out, cracking, or losing its adhesive properties over time. This can occur due to age, exposure to temperature fluctuations, or improper application. When the cement fails, it can lead to poor thermal conductivity and decreased cooling efficiency.
Symptoms of a bad alumilastic cement include:
- Reduced cooling performance
- Unusual noises from the cooling system
- Components becoming loose or detaching
- Increased energy consumption
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Icemaker would not make ice James R. • Poway , CA • April 26, 2016
Ordered a new icemaker from Appliance Pros after viewing the video and determining I could accomplish the task.
When the icemaker arrived (promptly) I installed it without difficulty after reviewing the video from Appliance Pros again.
The icemaker is now happily making ice and we saved about $200. over the cost of having a repair person come out.
Thank you Appliance Pros!!
