Ice dispenser not working or skipping? This coupling washer connects the auger motor to the ice bin. DIY-friendly repair with video guide included.

This coupler in turn rotates the auger in the bin to dispense the ice. I removed the motor coupler & shaft, tapped the coupler loose and filed off the rust. This allowed...

Lower ice bin broken Dennis B. • Wichita Falls , TX • March 30, 2020
Easy to remove the metal parts from the old bin. The only problem was that the screw that holds the adapter has red thread locker and screwdriver rounded off the head of the screw. Drilled the screw and heated the screw to loosen the thread locker and used an ease out to remove the screw.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Ice maker froze up at the water tube into the ice maker and stopped producing ice. Deborah C. • Huntsville , AL • December 07, 2017
All this occurred after our utility had to cut off our water for 2-3 hours. We almost ordered a new ice maker, but thankfully someone had their repair story posted. Based on that story, we ordered a new ice maker supply line and a new water inlet valve for our Kitchen Aid refrigerator. After turning off the water to the refrigerator we noticed that the water supply line had almost burst right above the ice maker, so we thawed that out with a hair dryer, then replaced that line first. Removed...

Broken tab on ice door Jeffery J. • Mustang , OK • December 19, 2015
It was not looking good. I could not order the part I needed as it was part of the door - eve though it had screws att Hong it to the freezer door. At one web site it was a replacement of the whole freezer door!/? Luckily I ventured further and found this repair kit and video instructions. My order arrived in 3 days, and the install (thanks to the video) was easy. A whole lot better than buying a new freezer door - not!
BTW - Whitlpool should not have made the tabs out of plastic, the metal...
