The handle on the refrigerator door was broken and needed to be replaced Richard W. • Baltimore , MD • April 12, 2015
Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy. The most irritating part was figuring out what parts to order. The drawing of the refrigerator door (Drawing # 4) used to figure out what parts to order was not clear. I paid $8...

The Refrigerator Door Gasket (Beige) is an OEM replacement part specifically designed for Whirlpool-brand refrigerators. The gasket is responsible for preventing warm air and moisture from entering the refrigerator when doors close. The gasket measures approximately 19 ¼” wide x 62" tall.

Symptoms of a bad gasket include:
- High energy costs as the system works to maintain proper cooling
- Warm, humid interior environment allowing food decay
- Visible air leaks around gasket edges when doors are shut
This part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, and other brands.

The seal on the door of the refigerator was damaged also the hinge cap needed replacing as it was cracked Michael S. • Fredericksburg , VA • January 20, 2016
I took the new seal out of it's packaging and used a blowdryer on low heat to soften up the seal so that the crease from shipping (it was folded to ship) disappeared. Next I took the refrigerator door off, removed the old seal, & cleaned the area where the new seal would be applied. Following the video on the Appliance Pro Parts website, I re-installed the new seal and put the door back on. Last step was to snap on the new hinge cap I ordered. The video online was easy to follow and this...

Both lugs on refrigerator water filter cap broke apparently due to age induced brittleness would not pull water filter out of refrigerator William F. • Birmingham , AL • June 01, 2016
Replaced filter cap with new one. The minor challenge was to find a method of pulling the filter out of refrigerator (which is normally done by pulling on the filler cap. The filter was recessed to far into the refrigerator for me to be able attach the new cap. I had to find another tactic to remove the filter. The solution was to look at the replacement filter to notice where two slots were located at the end of the filter. I then used a paint can opener (found at most paint stores) to slip...

I searched the web for a replacement drawer to no avail. Once I reached this site I was pretty discouraged when your site also said my drawer was no longer available. A suggestion for a different replacement drawer that MAY work was my only option. I purchased the drawer with the understanding that it could be returned if it didn't fit. The Spring is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It is a small but important internal part that applies pressure to dispense cubed or crushed ice from the refrigerator door. The spring is located within the ice dispenser mechanism and works with a lever to push ice out through the dispenser chute upon activation.
Causes of a bad spring can include wear and tear over time, putting undue pressure on the dispenser by jamming items into the chute, or damage from excessive force applied during dispensing.
Symptoms of a bad spring include:
- Ice cubes or crushed ice becoming jammed or failing to dispense properly
- The ice dispenser failing to push ice fully through the chute
- Excessive pressure needs to be applied to activate the dispenser
- Ice cubes are dispensed in irregular sizes or clumps rather than individual pieces
This OEM Whirlpool part is compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Ice dispenser was skipping so not dispensing ice Del H. • Midlothian , TX • September 03, 2018
The problem was that the motor coupler & shaft had a tiny bit of rust at their union. With the weight of the ice bin it rusted in the lowest position. This didn't allow the motor coupler to float on the shaft. There is a spring inside the shaft that pushes up on the motor coupler keeping it engaged in the ice bin coupler above. This coupler in turn rotates the auger in the bin to dispense the ice. I removed the motor coupler & shaft, tapped the coupler loose and filed off the rust. This allowed...

The Ice Mold is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This component forms the ice cubes in the icemaker, shaping the water into cubes as it freezes. The ice mold is crucial for the efficient production of ice, ensuring that each cube is properly formed and easily released into the ice bucket.
You should replace the ice mold if it shows signs of wear or damage. Causes of a bad ice mold can include mineral buildup from hard water, physical damage to the mold surface, or malfunctioning heating elements that prevent ice from releasing properly.
Symptoms of a bad Ice Mold include:
- Ice cubes not forming correctly or being irregular in shape
- Ice cubes sticking to the mold and not dispensing
- The icemaker not producing ice at all
- Leaks around the icemaker area
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Ice forming in the ice cube bin Bill J. • Scottsdale , AZ • December 13, 2014
I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason. Although the problem started off small, it gradually grew much worse, and finally I could see water dripping out of the ice mold and into the bin during the fill cycle. Re-levelling the refrig didn’t help, nor did adjusting the cube size / fill level.
With guidance from the video, I removed the icemaker from the wall of the freezer. The...

I noticed Ice maker Quit for the third time in 15 years so I decided to buy another Ice maker, I installed it and NO ice still?? Well I went after the other problem thinking if it does not get cold enough maybe ice maker won’t work. I ordered Defrost Switch, Heater and Evaporator Fan just to be safe. The Coupling is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool French door bottom-mount refrigerators equipped with an interior automatic icemaker. As an internal part, this coupling connects the auger motor to the ice mold assembly, allowing the motor to transmit rotational force during the ice harvest cycle.
Causes of a damaged coupling can include regular wear from years of exposure to changing temperatures inside the refrigerator. Mineral deposits accumulating on surfaces over many harvest seasons have the potential to deteriorate plastic material. Physical obstructions lodged in the icemaker mechanism could potentially bend or crack the coupling.
Symptoms of a failing coupling involve:
- Inability of the auger motor to engage fully and eject frozen cubes
- Grinding or knocking sounds emitting from the icemaker
- Restricted or incomplete ice harvest that leaves cubes in molds
This OEM replacement is compatible with some Kenmore Elite French door models.
