The lint catch was broken Misti P. • Spokane , WA • January 18, 2019
This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one.

The Door Handle is an OEM component for Whirlpool dryers. It provides convenient access to load and unload clothes through the dryer door opening.
Causes of a bad door handle can include normal wear and tear over extended use. Repeated clutching and releasing of the handle leads to fatigue of rubberized grip areas and loosening of mechanical connections. Accidental falls or impacts when transporting dry loads of clothes could also damage the handle structure or mounting.
Symptoms of a bad dryer door handle include:
- Increased play, wobble, or looseness when grasped
- Detachment or separation from the door assembly
- Cracks, splitting, or broken areas compromising the grip surface
- Inability to smoothly open or close the dryer door
Compatible models also include Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and some Kenmore dryers.

1 no heat on high or low settings and sometimes on medium heat setting 2 no auto cool down Robert H. • Renton , WA • March 11, 2015
I replaced the cycle switch, fixing the lack of heat. The timer switch replacement fixed the auto cool down. I watched a cycle switch replacement on Youtube, demonstrating removal of the top console, which answered the only question I had about the repair. The timer switch was a hundred bucks. The only thing to be said about that is that it was a lot cheaper than a repairman or replacing the dryer.

Broken dryer belt and not heating as good as it used to. Jimmie F. • Winfield , KS • January 15, 2018
I undid the top with a putty knife, took out two screws and took off the front. I replaced the drum rollers and put the new belt on the drum, looped the belt on the idler and then onto the motor pulley. I also put on two new top hold down clips as the old ones broke because they were plastic, the new ones were metal. I took off the back panel and replaced the heating element. The hardest part was cleaning up all of the lint and dirt that had accumulated over the years. It was not difficult,...

Leaking water from the tub seal David C. • Bessemer City , NC • January 27, 2018
THIE REPAIR WAS ON A WHIRLPOOL TOP LOAD WASHING MACHINE
At first I suspected the leak was from the pump because I had replaced the pump 2 times over 10 years. This time with the cabinet removed and filling the tub with water, I saw water running down one of the steel support arms that go under the tub, so I was guessing that it was coming from the tub seal. I had to use a jumper wire to bypass the Lid Switch so the water would drain.
Several months before I had this issue with the water leaking...

- Refer to your model's parts diagram for location and orientation
- Track the order of any shims/spacers during disassembly and reinstall in the same sequence
- Tighten fasteners to manufacturer guidance to avoid deforming the washer or binding parts

The dryer made a horrible metal on metal scraping noise when running Anna D. • Santa Rosa , CA • January 28, 2017
We opened the dryer up with help from the videos on your site, and came to the conclusion that the rear drum-support rollers needed to be replaced. We thought the front bearing and seal looked a little past-it as well, so we ordered that and a new bearing ring to go with it, and a new dryer belt (just so we wouldn't have to get back into it again any time soon).
I ordered the parts (standard shipping) at 4:30 PST on Tuesday and they arrived before 3:00 the next day!

This locking nut is used for many purposes on a range of machines including household appliances. This nut is often used for leg leveling for machines. It will help with vibrations from washers and dryers. If the nut is used for this purpose and goes missing or becomes damaged, it could cause the machine to vibrate more and seem louder.Nuts are made from metal and are built to last a long time. However, there can still be issues that arise. In some cases, the nuts might go missing if they become loose and the machine is moved. They could also corrode over time and need to be replaced. The replacement of the nut is typically a fast and simple repair. The nut is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced from the manufacturer. It can work with washers, dryers, and combo machines, and is compatible with models from Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, and Roper. The part is sold individually. Owners may want to have several on hand.
