I wasn’t sure where I could get parts for the fridge, Google brought me here. Super easy to look up model #’s and locate parts by type/location with the appliance map. I needed to change the racks and the doorstop. The racks were super simple. I would have succeeded with the doorstop too, but the holes at the bottom are stripped and the doorstop wasn’t secured correctly in the first place. Removed complete housing, including the actuator to dispense ice; plastic cemented, with reinforcing strips of cloth to reinforce repair on left hand side of assembly. Then installed new actuator part from Appliance Parts, plugged in wires, then had to plastic cement the pack on back of the new actuator back on, as it had come loose. Reassembled all, and finally managed to get the water discharge tube back through the hole, than replaced the flat strip connector & replaced all screws. Works... Read more

I wasn't sure if it was the door being warped, the spring return being worn, or the rotary damper failing, so I ordered all to update the door mechanism. I also ordered a new micro switch since one of the switches had started to require more and more pressure to actuate. Figured I'd fix it at the same time. Had a friend who is an appliance repair tech. Replace the evaporator, the heater coil, and the filter/drier. Parts were soldered together and the compressor was put under vacuum. Then, charged with 5 oz. of refrigerant. The freezer works great now! Read more

Evaporater fan would not run. Unplug the fridge and plug it back in and the fan would run for a while. Installed the UI-KIT SXS and the problem was fixed. The kit saved $ over ordering each part separate. I didn't know which part was bad. Saved more than half the cost of Main Switch Board when ordering the kit. Fast shipping! Walk into the kitchen on 21 Sep. Eight year old Frigidaire refrigerator appears to be short cycling, controls are nonfunctional. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it back in, appears to return to normal function. Return to kitchen half hour 45 minutes later it's short cycling again. My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder. Plastic parts cleaned up like new, metal parts were pitted. I wire brushed and sanded the parts put it all back together and gave it a try. Switch replacement was easy: -unplug fridge -using medium flathead, pry out old switch, starting from back, be gentle it's all plastic -when switch pops out, grab the wires and don't let them fall back into hold -there should be three wires -connect to new switch in same pattern -push new switch back in, being careful to orient it correctly while replacing the freezer switch, i noticed that one of the wires had loosened up and detacted from the old switch anyway, which was probably the actual...
