This was a 2000 model so rather than just replace the defrost timer which was visibly burnt on the terminals, we just did everything. The cold control, defrost timer, thermostat, defrost heater and the compressor capacitor were all replaced. I had the same issue on my older unit and tore it apart replacing one item at a time over a three month period so on an older one i suggest do it all while it is apart. Read more

I ordered a replacement handle and screws. The process was very easy with the help of one of your "pros" who found all the parts needed and took my order. I didn't realize I was getting both a refrigerator door handle and a freezer door handle in one set, but now we have the freezer handle if we need it. Removing the old handle and installing the replacement was very easy. It looks great, in fact the replacement is metal, whereas the original was plastic, so it looks better than it ever did! I originally ordered the Fan motor from a appliance dealer. I waited for 5 days for it to arrive. In the meantime I scavenge a motor from a junk refrigerator from the dump. • Door won't open or close

I put a piece of two-by-four, (2"x4") about 10-inches long on edge under the door to support the door. I removed the 3-bolts attaching the door hinge at the bottom corner. I then slid the washer onto the post and placed the bracket back in place with the 3-bolts. That did the trick. I used a 3/8-inch socket with extension and a ratchet. Read more

My 10 year old frig door was hanging down to the point it wasnt fully closing and sealing unless you picked up on it. I ordered a lower hinge bracket, upper and lower bearing, and spacer. My bracket was bent down a little due to my kids hanging on the door when looking at the bottom shelf and i discovered my bracket was held on by only two bolts when there was supposed to be three. I OBSERVED UPON OPENING THE COVER THAT FILTER ASSEMBLY COVER HAD CRACKED. ORDERED NEW COVER AND REPLACED IT. LEAK HAS STOPPED. Read more

Went to the Internet, entered the make and model number, read possible causes, viewed videos on fixes and determined it was probably the socket. Viewed the schematic to determine the correct part number. Ordered a new socket. Received it within three days and in less than 5 minutes replaced the light socket.
