This PTCR is the compressor's start device for select refrigerators. It helps the compressor start smoothly by momentarily boosting the start winding, then automatically reduces current as the motor reaches speed.
- Provides initial start assist to the compressor, then self-resets
- A failing PTCR can cause clicking, repeated start attempts, warm temperatures, or the compressor not running
- Helps protect the compressor by limiting inrush current during startup
What's included: One PTCR start device only Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; allow components to cool
- Note wire positions and orientation before removal
- Inspect compressor terminals for heat damage and ensure firm connections
- If the old device shows signs of overheating, also check the overload and wiring

Refrigerator not getting cold at all and everything thawing out compressor clicking Victor F. • West Milford , NJ • June 15, 2015
I researched the problem and determined that the only thing that can cause this was compressor bad or not starting. Since it was cold the day before I felt it had to be the starter parts and ordered them. It was also very important to clean the coil which I believe caused the over heating.

This water tank is the internal reservoir that stores and chills water for the refrigerator dispenser. Replacing a damaged tank helps restore proper dispenser flow and prevents water from pooling inside the fresh food compartment. What it does:
- Holds and cools drinking water inside the refrigerator before it reaches the dispenser
- Helps maintain steady dispenser flow and reduces spurting
- Typical failure symptoms: water leaking inside the fridge (often near the crisper area), visible cracks in the reservoir, or weak/no water from the dispenser after other causes are ruled out
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off the household water supply before service
- Remove interior shelves/drawers to access the tank and cover; place a towel to catch residual water
- Release tubing from quick-connect fittings; note routing and lengths, and ensure tubes are fully seated on reassembly
- Restore water, check for leaks, and dispense several cups to purge air and flush the system

Nasty water tank for fridge dispenser Prather, T. • Minden , NV • September 22, 2014
This part was easy to install by following the directions from other users here. As long as you get the right hoses connected in the right places, everything else was straight forward. Takes a few minutes for the tank to initially fill and pressurize and clear the air in the line and then you're on your way to clean fresh water!

This clamp secures small hoses or tubing and nearby wiring inside the appliance to keep lines held in place and reduce rubbing, leaks, or vibration noise. It's a direct-fit replacement designed to restore proper hose routing and stability. What it does:
- Holds water, drain or vent tubing securely to prevent sagging and rubbing that can cause leaks or wear
- Keeps hoses and wires aligned to reduce vibration and rattling during operation
- Helps maintain proper connections at fittings so seals stay seated and drip risk is minimized
- Simple mechanical clip action — no special tools or adhesives required
Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before starting any repair

Ice crusher repair GE Monogram counter depth. Glenn J. • El Cajon , CA • July 27, 2020
This was a very easy repair, the on-line video at AppliancePartsPros.com was helpful.
The Helix was spinning freely (meaning, the Auger Blade was not holding it in place on the Auger).
Pulling the assembly apart was a snap, and very logical (the video is perfect if you get lost).
The family is now enjoying both crushed and cubed ice - and the redesign of the Auger Blade seems to prevent clogging in the ice shoot.
