Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The refrigertor compressor was making a loud noise when the unit was cycling off   Nathaniel J. • Bossier City , LA • January 08, 2017

I ordered a clip retainer which hold the compressor in place. First, I discovered there are four clips and the one which I could easily move or turn by hand I ordered a replacement. The part came fast. In less than two minutes I had completed the repair. Read more

Evaporator Fan Motor Kit
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WR60X30349

The Evaporator Fan Motor Kit is an OEM part compatible with GE refrigerators. It is a critical component responsible for circulating air and maintaining proper airflow within the refrigerator's evaporator system, ensuring efficient cooling and temperature regulation. It features a shaft that measures 3/8 of an inch and two right-side terminals. Notably, the motor no longer comes with harness wires, which must be obtained separately for installation.

Symptoms of a faulty evaporator fan motor include:

  • Inconsistent or inadequate cooling in the refrigerator or freezer compartments
  • Warm spots or temperature fluctuations within the refrigerator
  • Excessive frost buildup or ice accumulation in the freezer

Causes of a bad evaporator fan motor can include wear and tear over time, electrical issues or short circuits, or physical damage from foreign objects or improper maintenance.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore refrigerator models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The refrigerator would not cool nor freeze!   Tom C. • Kenmore , WA • October 31, 2015

I called AppliancePartsPros.com and they helped me diagnose the problem for this very nice, and well designed refrigerator, that I wanted to keep rather than recycle at the local scrap yard. It turns out that all it needed was a small electric fan (i.e., evaporator fan) to circulate the air from the freezer coils throughout the refrigerator [all other major components were good]. It was really easy to locate the motor and fan and replace it. I saved hundreds of $$$. I really appreciated the... Read more

Grommet
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WR2X7391

The Fan Blade Grommet is an OEM replacement part for GE brand refrigerators. Located behind the evaporator fan blade where its central shaft passes through, this rubber sealing piece creates a protective barrier isolating the fan assembly.

Causes of a potentially problematic fan blade grommet include cracks or deterioration that develop from continuous vibration and impacts over extended use. Exposure to temperature fluctuations can also cause the rubber to harden and lose elasticity.

Symptoms of a faulty fan blade grommet include:

  • Airflow obstructions within the duct
  • Noisy vibrations from the fan assembly
  • Rubber debris collecting on components

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore model refrigerators.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I had a very noisy evaporator fan in older GE refrigerator top freezer   Richard B. • Casa Grande , AZ • December 06, 2019

Replaced the evaporator fan motor, fan blade, and two rubber grommets. I was careful to mark screws and bolts with sticky notes to ensure getting them back in the right place. I had all the new parts ready before I started the job because I did not have an extra freezer for my food and I wanted to do this quickly and only once. New parts went in well, Took a while to install the ring for the new fan blade using my long nose pliers. I would have saved time if I had the special ring spreader... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The gaskets was allowing air to leak out of the freezer   Polly A. • Houston , MO • December 05, 2020

I ordered 2 new gaskets, one for the freezer and another for the refrigerator. These arrived within a few days. I soaked both in the bathtub filled with hot water for about 20 minutes. My grandson installed both gaskets without any trouble. I duck taped on the freezer door to allow it to 'seep' with the cold air inside the freezer unit as I was told this would help make a better seal. I waited 48 hours before removing the tape and opening the door. So far, I'm very happy with my 'new'... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You End cap of bottom door shelf had broken when someone leaned on it as he stooped down to grab a beer   Galawowi*gerber G. • Houston , TX • April 13, 2016

So slick! Removed the nasty bungee cord he had used for a temporary (Ha ha!) fix months before. Checked the model number inside the frig. Googled "Kenmore parts." Scroll-enlarged the nifty diagram. Said, "A hah." Ordered the parts online. Answered the door the next day. Stopped dancing my little jig. Used the heel of my hand to knock the end caps onto the metal shelf, clicked it back in place on the door, and filled that shelf with beer. Ta dah! Thank you for clear instructions and easy... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You GE refrigerator front and rear wheels. The rubber shell on the wheels had cracked and peeled off.   Carl C. • London , OH • August 18, 2023

The front wheel assembly replacement (WRXO2X12454) was straightforward and easy to do. Took maybe 30 minutes start to finish. The rear wheel assembly (wheel WRO2X10695 and axle WRO1X10604) that was more involved as the original wheel axle is actually a rivet that you have to cut out. 1. I used a vibrating multitool with a carbide blade to cut the axle out. Had to use a pair of vise grips to hold the rivet to keep it from spinning while cutting it. 2. The new axle I drilled a 2mm hole thru the... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bottom shelf on ge refrigerator needed repairs and replacing   David S. • Reading , PA • August 02, 2014

It was a challenge...the shelf unit consists of two plastic end brackets and a long metal shelf. I possessed one original end cap while the metal shelf was inadvertently discarded years ago along with the other broken end bracket. For a few years some white duct tape was pressed into service as a "temporary" bottom shelf. Anyway, I searched for the necessary parts online and found and ordered a new end cap on AppliancePartsPros.com and a new metal shelf from another online vendor. The new end... Read more
