The Lower Front Felt Seal is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. This seal prevents hot air from escaping the dryer drum, ensuring optimal drying efficiency and preventing heat loss. It also helps reduce noise and vibration during operation.
Causes of a faulty lower front felt seal can include wear and tear over time, damage from foreign objects or excessive heat, or adhesive failure. These factors can result in air leakage, increased drying time, or excessive lint buildup.
Symptoms of a front felt seal may include:
- Air leakage around the dryer door or front panel
- Excessive lint accumulation near the dryer opening
- Unusual noises or vibrations during the operation
This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.
Note: For the Hi-Temp Adhesive, order part number 5308027429. Additional parts to check are the rear drum bearing kit 5303281153 and the front felt glide assembly 5303937139.

Kenmore Dryer Model 41791042000. Replaced the Front Felt Guide Assembly (5303937139) Lower Front Felt Seal (5303283286) Rear Drum Bearing Kit (5303281153) and Dryer Drum Belt. (134503600)
Having performed this same maintenance 5 years ago I was familiar with the process which is fairly straightforward. However, the video for the Front Felt Guide replacement seems to no longer be on the website. Also, the video for the Lower Front Felt Seal is wrong, showing the replacement of some felt seal...

The bearing on the dryer drum wore out so bad the ball fell off Thomas J. • Green Bay , WI • October 31, 2016
I replaced the ball and socket connection for the drum. After doing so, I realized that the belt had been stretched and the tension pulley was not putting enough tension on the belt to turn the drum. After ordering a new belt, extra screw that was lost while disassembling the dryer, and some high temperature lubricant for the drum ball and socket the dryer now runs as well as it did when it was new.

The Front Felt Glide Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. This part allows smooth operation of the dryer drum, providing a felt pad that the drum glides on as it rotates. This not only helps to support the drum but also minimizes friction and noise, contributing to the efficient and quiet operation of the dryer.
Over time, the felt portion of the glide assembly can wear down, leading to increased friction between the drum and the dryer's front panel.
Symptoms of a bad Front Felt Glide Assembly include:
- Unusual noises during operation, such as squeaking or grinding
- The dryer drum may catch or hesitate during rotation
- Increased wear and tear on clothing due to the drum's rough movement
- The dryer may take longer to dry clothes efficiently due to the drum's impaired rotation
This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Worn bearing and felt causing dryer drum to rattle and creek Bay S. • Bothell , WA • January 05, 2016
Recommendations have fun and a bucket to prevent losing parts. First watch the videos, practice disassemble and reassemble the dryer drum. Make certain you have a good screw driver and spatula from kitchen (could not find my putty knife). Secondly, clean and inspect everything, make sure the motor bearing and belt pulleys are in good condition with little or no play. Third after you have confidently disassembled, vacuum cleaned, inspected all the worn parts, grease the motor and pulley,...

The Motor is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. It is responsible for driving the drum rotation in the dryer, allowing for the tumbling and drying of clothes. It converts electrical energy into mechanical motion, providing the necessary power to spin the drum and circulate air for efficient drying.
Causes of a faulty dryer motor can include wear and tear over time, electrical malfunctions, or physical damage. These factors can result in issues such as the drum not spinning, unusual noises during operation, or the dryer not heating properly.
Symptoms of a bad dryer motor may include:
- The drum not rotating or spinning
- Unusual grinding or squealing noises while the dryer is in use
- Dryer not generating heat or insufficient drying performance
This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Drum stopped turning loud 60 hz hum from motor James S. • Winchester , TN • November 03, 2018
The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts. My DIY project included replacing the motor, blower, drum bearing, belt, and door hinge. The end result is a functional dryer with no left-over parts.
Lack of parts and hardware challenged the effort. For example, the blower assembly did not have the slide capture for the motor. I had to use the old one which is showing its age. With the exception of the drum...

Start knob broke off the front of dryer. Charlotte B. • Gardena , CA • September 10, 2017
Fix was simple. Hardest part was taking off old part and attaching the new part. The drum was in the way but I worked around it. Started by opening dryer top, then unscrewing the timer mechanism in order to create some slack. Removed the wires from the start switch and replaced the old switch with the new one. Reconnected the wires and screwed everything back in place. Simple fix wish I had more strength in my hands. Girl Power!!
