The handle on the refrigerator door was broken and needed to be replaced Richard W. • Baltimore , MD • April 12, 2015
Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy. The most irritating part was figuring out what parts to order. The drawing of the refrigerator door (Drawing # 4) used to figure out what parts to order was not clear. I paid $8...

Ice maker stopped making ice Janell N. • Portland , OR • August 10, 2014
I had verified that the water supply was healthy, so it was either the icemaker unit or the water valve. I replaced the icemake first, based on a the pareto showing it was the culprit for most other people, but it didn't help. That replacement was straightforward; the hardest part was reaching all the way back to unclip the wiring harness since I am too lazy to totally empty the bottom freezer and remove the door.
So the next step was the water valve. The hardest part of this was pulling the...

The drip pan had basically disintegrated in the 6 years i've had the kitchenaid refrigerator Robert M. • Glenside , PA • November 06, 2015
Had to take the back cover off. It was very tight to remove the fan that sat in the drip pan but did get it off, was able to apply the same level of cursing and got the new pan installed, installing the drain tube was a breeze. Found the parts price very reasonable. Hoping the Whirlpool redesigned the pan so I won't have to do it ever again. I was surprised at how bad the quality of their original part was. Probably saved myself $150.00 on buying the part and doing it myself

Clogged refrigerator drain; in the process we broke the part we subsequently ordered from you Douglas M. • Phoenix , AZ • September 25, 2016
There is nothing you can't do given the right YouTube video! We disassembled the bottom mount freezer n our Jenn Air refrigerator to remove all the ice and then located the clogged grommet on the back of the unit and cleared it and added a notch. In the process of reassembling we broke the bracket on a part that should have been the easiest portion of the entire installation! In seconds we located and ordered the part on your site. It arrived in a couple of days and then we removed the door and...

This acoustic fiber is the sound-absorbing insulation used in a refrigerator's machine compartment. Replacing a missing or damaged pad reduces operating noise from the compressor area and helps maintain the unit's intended sound levels.
- Absorbs and dampens compressor and condenser fan noise from the rear machine compartment
- Helps reduce vibration resonance transmitted through the cabinet
- Restores sound control when original insulation is torn, saturated, or missing
- Common symptoms: increased humming, buzzing, or rattling from the back or bottom of the refrigerator
What's included: One acoustic fiber insulation pad. Install notes:
- Disconnect power and pull the refrigerator forward for rear access
- Remove the lower rear access panel and note the insulation's placement/orientation
- Position the new pad in the same location; keep clear of coils, wiring, airflow paths, and moving parts
- Reinstall the access panel and restore power; verify no contact or obstruction

Water was leaking & then freezing in the bottom of the freezer compartment Ronald S. • Frankfort , IL • December 30, 2014
Replaced the water tube that went from the plastic tubing to the ice cube tray. Found that even though it was the same exact length as the original, there was only an extremely small gap from the end of the tube to a splash board. This may have been the root cause of my problems.

Erratic/warm temps sometimes worked fine but not reliably Jennifer C. • Plainville , MA • June 15, 2015
My fridge was often reaching 60-70 degrees but would work well when motor/fans were running; it just wasn't cooling regularly. I checked the coils, defrost, damper, and fans, and they all seemed to work, so that only left the cold control in terms of what I was willing to try to fix. (It wasn't worth messing with the compressor as the fridge is 12 yrs old.) The fridge would sometimes kick on when I tapped the cold control knob so it was a reasonable - and, it turns out, correct - guess.
