Before we replaced the board, my wife tried to replace just the element. We had one we had ordered several years ago when this same thing happened. When that didn't work we replaced the board and could see where the old board was damaged so we figured this was the solution. Had to pull double oven and range top out from wall which involved removing the upper kitchen cabinet. Took the sheet metal off the back and had the socket swapped out in a couple of minutes. My old oven works like a charm! Read more

This is a Montgomery Ward gas range made by Tappan. Parts are no longer offered for this appliance. So, I had to eyeball various ignitors to determine which one would work. I settled on the least expensive one and ordered two (Just in case there were "issues"). The parts arrived quickly but were not a simple drop-in replacement. Got replacement part, removed backing from oven, removed old sensor, spliced in wires, and put it all back together Read more

I purchased 2 new light rocker switches, Because the heating element rocker switch was unavailable. First I removed the power source for safety. Then I simply pulled each switch out individually with a flathead screwdriver for leverage. I simply unplugged the wires from the old rocker switch, discarded the old rocker, plugged the wires into the new rocker switch, and pushed the new switch appropriately back into the control panel. I went on your website found the parts needed to make the repairs. I watched the short video on installation. The parts arrived just a few days after I placed the order. I finished the repair in less than an hour and had to wait a few minutes to test the switch since the power was off and on due to a wind storm.
