Ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com for less than $3.00. It took me less than 5 minutes to replace the part. I got two estimates to fix this and just to come out and look at the problem was $150 plus a 2nd trip out to replace the part. I ordered an extra for the left door and one for the right door. I replaced the ice maker assembly, which included the motor and electronics. I also replaced the door seal and the input cold air duct seals. The ice maker is mounted with only 2 philips screws, so it is easy to remove. The most difficult part is the harness, specifically the ground screw. The issue is that the wire is short and you need to turn the unit in order to get a screwdriver in. We looked at the diagrams on your site and were able to tell which parts we needed. We had tried other sites and could not recognize the parts because the diagrams did not have a zoom. LG would not give us the information because they have a contract with a local parts/repair company. We bought three parts and were able to fix the fridge without bringing in any outside help.
