The Softener Cap is an OEM part for LG washing machines. It serves as the lid and housing for the internal water softener that prevents mineral deposits from building up. The softener cap funnels water to and from the softener compartment during various stages of the wash cycle.
Causes of a faulty softener cap can include cracked or degraded seals over extended usage, impact damage distorting fit, or harsh cleaners affecting plastics over time.
Symptoms of a bad softener cap include:
- Water leaks from around the softener area
- The cap not closing or sealing properly
- Mineral buildup occurring prematurely
- The softener not functioning as intended
This genuine LG replacement is compatible with Sears/Kenmore machines.

Ue error code and the machine was not out of balance. It would get to about 13 on the spin cycle and would keep refilling and not finish the spin cycle. Judy S. • Willard , OH • October 19, 2018
Had this same problem with my previous Whirlpool washer so I knew what the problem was on my LG machine. Ordered the suspension rods and my husband and I replaced them in about five minutes. Hardest part was getting the front latches to release on the lid. I helped lift up on the drum and he put them in place one by one. Simple fix. Been running great so far

This washer motor stator assembly is the stationary windings of the direct-drive motor. Replacing a weak or shorted stator restores smooth drum tumbling and strong, consistent spin performance so wash cycles complete properly.
- Creates the rotating magnetic field that drives the rotor and spins the inner basket
- Works with the rotor to provide torque for wash/tumble and high-speed spin
- Common symptoms: drum won't spin or tumble, stops under load, or motor hums without turning
- Burnt odor or visible heat damage on windings can indicate stator failure
What's included: 1 motor stator assembly Install notes:
- Disconnect power and turn off water; access the motor from the rear panel
- Remove the rotor center bolt and slide off the rotor; strong magnets—handle carefully
- Unbolt and remove the stator; transfer/reconnect the motor position (Hall) sensor and harness if present
- Tighten fasteners evenly; verify drum rotates freely by hand before restoring power

The washer sounded like a jet plane when it went through the spin cycle very loud noise Lane C. • Pleasant Garden , NC • February 24, 2015
I originally thought the washer had a bad bearing, but once I got it disassembled it the spider arms were broken. This required the replacement of the tub assembly. While replacing the tub I replaced all of the water bellows. The parts came quickly, the live chat and videos were very helpful. This washer has to be completely disassembled to replace the drum, so mark all the screw locations, tag and bag everything and take lots of pics. It was a very rewarding project and hundreds of dollars...

- Intermittent faults may cause sporadic errors or inconsistent performance
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off water before servicing
- Access location varies by model; the sensor is typically mounted in the outer tub or heater housing
- Unplug the harness, pull the old sensor straight out; seat the new sensor fully and reconnect the harness

I purchased a new lg washer at auction got it home and realized there were no leveling legs it took a while to research which legs fit as the documentation didn't have a part # Joni M. • Zimmerman , MN • October 11, 2015
Ended up at this site by doing a Google search, and did an on-line chat to see if they could help. I had no idea what the legs would look like, but the rep I talked to was VERY helpful and we narrowed it down to the ones I eventually purchased. Received them in a couple of days and they fit!! I was so excited - it couldn't have worked out better. Thank you so much!!
