When I took the left side of the handle off I found the plastic piece that broke on the right side was about to break on the left side also. Main Fuse did not open, only fuse for high voltage section was opened. Prior to the fuse blowing a louder than normal hum was heard from microwave for 1-2 seconds prior. Easy fix is the high voltage capacitor, so first checked the voltage across the capacitor terminals to ensure capacitor was discharged. Typically should be reasonably discharged within 30sec-1min assuming drain resistor is still in place. Removed the high voltage cap, and checked the capacitance and did not get a reading.... Ordered replacement transformer from appliance part pros.Found a video on youtube showing start to finish of how to remove and replace over the range microwave transformer. I used a voltmeter to test continuity on parts. I found 2 thermostats burnt out. I replaced all of the thermostats and also changed a capacitor. It now works well! Read more

Went on line, entered the model number and actually chatted with your competition who said it was the fan and I needed an electrician and he would be available for a $37.00 fee .I'm not a genius at repairing, but I knew it was a mechanical issue, so fortunately I found your company and the comment section told me how to get to the part and change it. Removed OTR microwave. Checked the thermostat switches while power was applied with a DVM. Noticed that when a certain set of wires was moved the slightest bit the microwave would power up. Traced the wires to the thermostat switch for the cavity. Noticed that where one (of two) Faston terminals was crimped to the thermostat switch was black. (should be copper colored). That is a sure sign of arcing from a loose connection. Since the specification for the switch was to trip at 248F degrees... Read more
