This turbidity sensor detects how clear the dishwasher's wash water is so the control can adjust cycle time, rinses, and water changes. Replacing a faulty sensor helps restore proper cleaning performance and normal cycle lengths.

  • Monitors soil level/clarity of the wash water
  • Signals the control to extend or shorten wash and rinse phases as needed
  • Helps optimize water use while maintaining cleaning results
  • Failure symptoms can include unusually long or short cycles, poor cleaning, repeated draining/refilling, or cycles that won't advance
What's included: 1 turbidity sensor assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and turn off the water supply before servicing
  • Pull the dishwasher out as needed; access the sensor from the base area
  • Place a towel to catch residual water; release the locking tab or twist-lock, unplug the connector, and install the new sensor fully seated and locked
  • Restore power/water and run a test cycle; check for leaks

For Bosch Turbidity Sensor (Aqua Sensor Assembly) (Part Number: OEM8407101)

Hello Julie, This is normally caused by a failing water inlet valve. If you remove the kickpanel and remove the water valve, you can use a towel that has not been washed with fabric softener to "wick" the water out of the base. Replace the water valve and the issue is normally corrected. The water valve part number is 00607335 if the model number is actually SHV57C03UC/46.

Hello Sean, This is most likely a water temperature issue. You will need to verify the fill water is up to 120°F to ensure proper operation. Cooler water takes longer to heat and will prolong the normal cycle time.

Hi, I have this bosch dishwasher and used a detergent for hand wash. After some minutes foam and water started coming out of the dishwasher's front door. I opened the door only to find out that half of the inside was filled with foam. I removed the foam but aqua sensor indicator keeps blinking and dishwashers tries to empty the water but that's all. It constantly did this for 5 hours no matter what I have tried (cleaned filters, pressed the reset button, even shut the power off), but it keeps blinking and trying to empty water even when there is no water in it. I read the user manual and there is a chance that water entered the safety system. Any ideas of what I can do?

George, You will need to pull the unit out and clean out the fill parts located on the left side of the unit. Once this is done you will then need to use a table spoon of vegetable oil poured into the bottom of the dishwasher tub and turn the unit on for a cycle and let it run through a complete cycle.

Hello Steve, If the water valve was at fault there will be some water in the base of the unit and the flood switch will be activated. This basically tells the control there is a water leak and all the unit will do is try to drain until the water in the base is emptied. I always use the corner of a towel that has not been washed with fabric softener, (since the softener will repel water instead of soaking it up). The easiest way to clear this water is by removing the water valve and fishing the towel into the bottom of the base through this opening. Be careful not to damage the Styrofoam float in the bottom. When the water in the base is removed the unit should resume normal operation.

The dishwasher runs and washes normally but continues running while displaying a "1". I replaced the Heater relay to no avail. Followed a procedure to measure resistance on the Aqua Sensor and find it reads less than 1ohm. The Manual indicates that it should read about 1 Meg ohm. Pulled the sensor and got the same resistance. Do you think that is causing the continuous running and display of "1" or do I have problems. All other resistance measurements seem to be ok. Thank you

Hello Steve, This is normally cause by a water valve not opening all the way which in turn causes the water to drizzle out of a port hole into the main base, floating the flood switch. This causes the drain pump to run constantly and in some cases, (depending o the wiring configuration), even with the door opened. Removing the kick panel and moving the red flood switch activating rod will turn it off. Water will be standing in the main base if this is the issue. This water has to be removed with a towel or shop vac, (be careful not to damage the styrofaom float). Replacing the water valve 00425458 and removing the standing water in the main base corrects the issue.

Dirty dishes, The issue with the unit shutting off and the clean light coming on before the cycle is complete would be caused by a faulty control module part number 00701523.

Hello Matt, (E24) fault code indicates that the waste water hose is blocked or kinked. This can also indicate a clogged filter or failing drain pump.

Kurt, With the unit switching cycles on its own would be caused most likely by the control module.

Mike, You will need to check under the unit and check to make sure that there is no water in the base plate. If there is then this would be the cause. If water is in the baseplate then the flood switch is seeing this and causing the drain to continue to run until the water is sensed not being there.
