Kmc May 15, 2011 for Model Number SGC365RS How do I replace the ceramic igniter? A piece of the ceramic broke off the right front burner. Are the Bosch parts totally interchangeable with the original Thermador parts? I have had NO trouble with this cooktop in 10 years... I live on an island and have to do the repairs myself. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello KMC. If you can provide your email address, we can send you the service manual to help you change the igniter. Bosch manufactures the Thermador product lines. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jeff May 12, 2011 for Model Number GPS484GGS We have the top left burner that does nothing when we turn it on. No clicks, or attempts to try to start. Does it sound like an ignition plug or something else to you? I also have another question for you. We never use the grill portion of our cooktop, and use the griddle a lot. Is it possible to convert the grill into a griddle area? Thank You
1 Answer Hello Jeff! You will need to replace the spark module 00753257. If you determine you are in need of the wiring, you will have to purchase them locally. Unfortunately, we would not be able to advise if you would be able to convert the grill into a griddle. You would have to contact the manufacture directly to verify such information. Thanks. Richard D. May 03, 2011 for Model Number SGCS304RS The right rear burner (12,500 BTU) igniter does not work properly. It will not ignite the burner unless you turn the knob down to an almost low position. Once the burner will not work if the knob is turned up from the position where the igniter was turned on. The XLO zone works fine. What do I need to fix this problem?
1 Answer Hello Richard. It sounds like the spark switch 00189008 may be bad on the unit. You will need to check and see if it is broke or rounded out. Hope this helps. Read More...
Matt April 05, 2011 for Model Number Thermador Cooktop 45"SG456 I ordered three new ignitors. My old ignitors have springs but the new ones do not. I cannot find the springs listed as separate parts. Do the new ignitors need springs? If so, can I use the springs from my old ignitors? If so, how do I remove the springs from the old ignitors?
1 Answer Hello Matt. According to the service maunal, the springs are no longer used. Hope this helps. Read More...
James B. February 22, 2011 Igniters are intermittent. Occasionally they work but usually they don't, especially those used most often. The problem isn't effected by cleaning or drying. Is replacement likely to correct the problem or is something else wrong?
