Alfred November 13, 2011 for Model Number RDF30rs My thermodor left front burner igniter will not stop sparking even though the burner is lited. I replaced the igniter. Afterward, it worked for about 3 days and now when I turn on the burner it sparks twice and stopped. But that wasn't enough to lite the burner. I can smell the gas coming out. Do I have a defective igniter or it is something else? How would I trouble shoot it?

Gary D October 28, 2011 for Model Number pcs484ggus I bought an ignition head from you (Bosch 189324) to replace a bad ignitor on one of our star burners. The old ignitor is corroded inplace but I know I can get it out by breaking it. What I did notice is that the body of the new ignitor is larger than the old one. I used a micrometer to check it. The old ignitor is about .237" and the new one is .297". I called Appliance Parts Pros and talked to a rep, she assured me that the one I bought (189324)is shown to be the correct ignitor for my cooktop. My question is how do I fit it? Do I have to open the hole up burner base? Do I have to buy a new burner base? If I buy a new burner base will it fit on the existing spill tray? Help
1 Answer Hello Gary. Yes, based on the model number you provided, 00189324 is the manufacture replacement ignitor. You will need to remove the old ignitor and see if the ignitor fits into the hole. The manufacture does not have any notes of modifications being required for the install. Hope this helps. Read More...
Thermador Question October 21, 2011 for Model Number Thermador Gas Cooktop GG30 My original part was 20-09-245. Thermador says the new number is 189786 but it is discontinued. Your site says you have it in stock but when I called I was told you don't. Comparing the photos they look the same except 189786 has the spring and 189324 doesn't. If I have the spring (from the ones to be replaced) will 189324 work fine?
1 Answer Hello. No, according to the manufacture, 00189324 is not recommended as a replacement. The part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Thanks. Read More...

Strat July 27, 2011 Your rep told my wife that part #189324 was a replacement for part # 189786 because this part was discontinued and #189324 was developed because there was still a demand for this part. My wife ordered and paid for this part. I have ordered a technician from BSH Home Appliance to install this part on Augest 9th. Can he make this part # 189324 work by modification? The problem is the ignition head is missing, all other parts of the Thermador model SGCV36G are in like new condition. The left rear burner when turned on emits gas but obviously will not function without the ignition head. Help!!
1 Answer Hi Strat. This is the reccommended replacement burner igniter for your unit. There should not be any difference in changing the part. I hope this helps. Thank you. Read More...

Bruce M. July 16, 2011 for Model Number PC30 I tried removing the venturi with a 20mm socket - it seemed stuck. The rear nut turned but ended up twisting and ruining the gas feed tube rather than unscrewing. Since I have read that the venturi rarely unscrew and have to be cut out then replaced with a new piece. Is there definitive information on removing the venturi without destroying the 1) venturi and/or 2) the gas feed line below?
1 Answer Hi Bruce. Can you please send us the exact model # so we can assist you further. Thank you. Read More...
Bruce M. July 13, 2011 for Model Number Thermador PC30 Range Top I need to replace a damaged ceramic igniter. I have the part, but don't want to damage the unit while replacing it. I haven't been able to find a service manual. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Bruce. You will need to disassemble the star burners, by removing the venturi from the center of the burners. Once the venturi are removed, you will remove the burners and lift the top to access the igniter 00189324. Unplug the igniter wire from the igniter that you wish to replace. Then unsnap the e-ring from the grove in the igniter body and remove the igniter from the cooktop. Install new igniter and reassemble the cooktop. Hope this helps. Read More...
