Kurt January 16, 2017 for Model Number SCD272TP Both the doors of my double oven do not close tightly, and the oven light will stay on. The gaskets are hard, but do the hinges wear out, requiring replacement or should the gaskets alone fix the problem?
1 Answer Hello Kurt, The hinge springs do stress over time and cause the door hinges to require replacement. Replacing the gaskets may help with the bake compartment air flow but will not help with the door light switch issue. I'm sorry but these parts, 00487747 for painted doors or 00487746 for stainless steel doors, have been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...

Now when trying to use the self clean feature, I get a door message which I suspect means that the lock is not working as expected. How do I determine of the lock switch is bad and needs to be replaced and which part I need?
