Patty March 15, 2017 for Model Number RDSS30 S/N 9707 & UP The front left burner on my stove goes out after being on simmer for about 10 minutes. The repair man said the simmer control unit is bad and they are no longer made. I found the simmer control unit online (part no. 00753257), but not the potentiometer. What if I have just the control unit replaced and use the old potentiometer? Could that fix the problem? One online site says a Bosch unit including the potentiometer (part no. 0422882) can be used to as a replacement part on my Thermador stove (serial no. 99050212). Can you confirm that? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Patty, You would need to order 00497234 for the model provided and be sure to install all parts because the old potentiometers are not compatible with the new simmer control, (it does not show the potentiometers but two come with this simmer control). Read More...
Pat December 15, 2016 for Model Number RDSS30 s/n 970100__ I have a problem with the left rear simmer burner, I get gas but no spark. All other burners are fine. Can you please tell me the part and part # I need, Thank you. Pat
1 Answer Pat, You are on track and on target. The potentiometer kit 00497234 / 00497234, would be the best option to repair your Bosch gas cooktop. The kit is in stock and available at this time. Thanks, Read More...
Marie-Joëlle A October 11, 2016 for Model Number RDDS30VRS Our Thermador was purchased in 1998 (serial # starts with 98). Both left side burners are not working. the front one ignites and stays on for about 4 min then extinguishes and the igniter sparks continuously causing all igniters to spark. the rear one doesn't ignite but like the front one causes all igniters to spark. the right side burners work fine keeping the flame, even when caused to spark. If the problem is with the potentiometer, I understand that thermador no longer offers a replacement but apparently Bosch ones may work.
1 Answer Marie-Joelle, For this issue it sounds like you may have a couple different issues. The first would be for the gas shutting off on one and not running on the other will most likely be the gas solenoids. For the constant clicking then this would be the potentiometer which is part number 00422749. Read More...
John July 30, 2016 for Model Number Thermador Range model # RDSS30 The left rear XLO burner fails to light. Gas is coming out from that burner. I see a spark to all four burners. I can light it manually with a match or by sparking any other of the three burner knobs.
1 Answer John, If the burner is sparking but no lighting then you will want to check to make sure that the burner head and the burner cap are clean. If they are not then this could cause the gas to flow but not light. The other thing that it could possible be would be a bad spark igniter if the ceramic on the igniter is cracked. Read More...
Doug July 20, 2016 for Model Number RDSS30RS The front left burner does not light. Compared to the other three burners it is getting good spark. However there is no gas. As this is a low simmer unit my query is which part should be used, the gas solenoid or the potentiometer kit ? How does one go about testing for this ?
1 Answer Hello Doug. If there is power to the solenoid and it does not open, you will need to order and replace the gas solenoid on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Peter G. September 17, 2015 for Model Number Rdds 30v The ignitors spark but burners do not light. Sometimes all burners spark out of control at once and won't stop when one burner is lit. LH burners with simmer control seem to be more problematic not starting, lack of gas. What parts should I be looking at? I have spare non-simmer valves off another stove. Can I install those and un-install the simmer control?
1 Answer Hello Peter, You cannot re-design the appliance by installing parts not called for on your unit. This could cause a hazardous condition. When the unit sparks after the flame is lit it indicates a loss of chassis ground to the burner areas. You will need to do some disassembly and sand and/or clean up the areas around where the panels are held together with screws. This will re-establish ground to the burner areas so the simmer control can properly detect the flame. Since this is done by the simmer control reading the resistance of the flame, the ground to the ignitor/burner base is very important. Read More...
Joel January 30, 2015 for Model Number RDSS30QB We have a Thermador RDSS30 QB range and the front left burner sparks but does not light. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Joel, The sparking eliminates the ignitor, potentiometer, and spark module from being the issue. The issue will have to be either the gas valve 00412950, the burner 00414785, or the solenoid 00411253. Read More...
Stac December 03, 2014 for Model Number RDDS30VQW My thermador dual range all cook top works, broil works, but when I push bake control shows 100 and will not heat at all, replaced baking element unfortuantly that wasn't the problem. I was told it most likely is the oven control clock? Could it be something else? Need to replace ASAP Thanks, Stacy
1 Answer Stac, With this issue, the oven control will most likely be the cause for the unit to not operate. Read More...
Thomas D August 23, 2014 for Model Number PCS364GL Two left burners do not work. I installed a new spark module but that didn't help. So I figure it is the gas simmer controller (Model No. SQ 003) but I cannot order it through Thermador as they say it isn't available anymore. What shall I do? Thank You.
1 Answer Thomas, The simmer control that you would need to get for your model number is 00645446. Read More...
Roger August 20, 2014 for Model Number rdss30rs Two left burners (front and rear) spark but no gas (will not light) I replaced one of the solenoids...cost me $118. Still did not work... can i return this part and is it the potentiometers that are the problem? What do I need to order?
1 Answer Roger, With the issue that you are having you will want to make sure that your replaced the left solenoid. Also you would want to check to make sure that there is voltage getting to the solenoid. If not then the simmer control would be faulty and you would need kit part number 00497234.
