Mike August 19, 2014 for Model Number RDFS30 We have a Thermador range, number RDFS30, I believe it was bought in 2004. The two left gas burners have no ignition and the gas does not turn on. This model as a simmer control on the left side. I do have ignition and gas on the right side of the unit of the range. In 2006 I had a simmer control kit replaced. I don't recall that this similar situation occurred. Like I said, I do not have ignition or gas on the left side. Could it be the igniter and simmer control kit. I'm at a loss. Thanks for the consideration.
1 Answer Mike, The issue would be in the simmer control kit. The potentiometers are not sending signal to the simmer control to allow the unit to spark. Read More...
Chuck May 03, 2014 for Model Number Thermador RDFS30 I have a Thermador RDFS30 and the left back simmer burner does not light. There is spark at all of the burners. I have swapped the two simmer solenoids and both are OK so I assume that I need the potentiometer kit. Is AP3872616 the correct part number? I currently use this with natural gas. I would like to switch to LP gas in the future. Thermador indicates there is a kit, NLPKITS, P/N 35-00-622. Is this kit or the equivalent parts available?
1 Answer Hello Chuck, You will need kit number 00497234 for this model. The conversion kit crosses to part number 00489120. Read More...
Dave March 19, 2014 for Model Number Thermador RDSS30 Hi, I have a Thermador Dual-Fuel Range RDSS30. The two left side XLO burners do not work. They do not spark or allow gas to flow when the left side knobs are turned, but do spark when the right side burners are turned. The right side burners work just fine. Do I need the potentiometer kit 497235 or do I need new solenoids 00411253. Can you explain? I am confused by all the different posts. The ACV is about 126 from ground to POT1, POT2 and -5. Thanks. I would definitely appreciate your help on this.
1 Answer Dave, Yes you would need to get the potentiometer kit 00497235. Basically the simmer control is faulty and needs to be changed but the new simmer control will not work with the old potentiometer. Read More...
Marcos March 12, 2014 for Model Number thermador pcs486gdus Hi, I have the thermador 6burner stove top model pcs486gdus. All burners work except the far left front burner with the extra low simmer control. It gets a spark but no gas. Is it the potentiometer or a solenoid? I would be appreciative for help with a kit or parts from your company that would repair this. Also, on a separate item I need to replace an icemaker in my subzero model 632-s. No ice at all I have checked all parts with no success. Again, would like to repair this with your parts. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Marcos, The Thermador issue is most likely the solenoid 00415134. I'm sorry but this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. The Sub Zero icemaker can be replaced with D7824706Q. The bale arm and wiring harness from the old assembly will have to be re-used since they do not come with the icemaker assembly. Read More...
Robert J. March 08, 2014 for Model Number Thermador PRG366US/01 Serial #39502008071700034 6 burner Thermador 36" Range (bought new 2005) with a few problems. The two XLO burners on the left side sometimes fail to relight when in an XLO position. Intermittently, when lighting one of the burners, the ignitors on all of the other burners will continue to spark. Finally the ignitor on the far right front burner (a standard burner) won't spark. I've cleaned the tip but still no spark. Gas does flow and the burner will light with a match. So, what kit of parts do I need to resolve these issues? I'm pretty handy and was easily able to replace the oven ignitor a couple of years ago. Thanks for your assistance and recommendations.
1 Answer Hello Robert, You will need to install simmer control kit 00497234 to correct the issue. All of the parts must be installed since the new parts are not interchangeable with the old parts. Both switches have to be used. Read More...
Sandy February 21, 2014 for Model Number RDFS30QS I purchased a Heater-Element for my Thermador range because it quit heating on 12/16/13 from you folks. It had a bright hot spot only for a while before quitting. It has been working until this week and now that element is stone cold when the oven gets turned on and the oven again will not heat to more than 200. Can you tell me what the problem might be please? Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Sandy. Test the element and see if it reads closed for continuity. If not, it is bad and needs to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Craig January 14, 2014 for Model Number RDFS30RS I have a Thermador RDFS30RS and the left 2 burners do not light, there is spark at the burners, these are the simmer burners. I would asume that I need the potentiometer kit, if so what is the part number. Thank you Craig
1 Answer Hello Craig, I doubt the potentiometer kit will help your issue since you are getting sparks at the ignitors. You will need the gas solenoid 00411253. Read More...
Jon January 07, 2014 for Model Number Thermador SGCS304RB, serial #97040023 I ordered part #497235 for my Thermador cooktop SGCS304RB. The enclosed instructions detail how to distinguish the obsolete parts from the new parts. The enclosed replacement simmer controller doesn't really match either the old or the new description. How do I verify that the kit contains the correct replacement part? According to the instructions, the old part is "SQ003-H A". The new part is "SQ003-H B". The enclosed part just says "SQ003-H" The label also say "S/N: 83.31000.003". There is a bar code sticker on it that reads: "GAS SQ 003H C T" and "1000003-13206-01179". Do I have the correct simmer controller for my cook top?
1 Answer Hello Jon, I looked it up by the manufacturers' service bulletin and you have received the correct part for your unit 00497235. Read More...
Amber January 07, 2014 for Model Number PRSE486GDS I was told I need a spark module kit and a potentiometer kit. It looks like these are the same thing? Also what wiring or additional things will I need to install this if any? Thank you!
1 Answer Amber, Based on the model number you supplied and our records from the manufacturer, you will need the Simmer Control Kit 00497234 not the 00497235. As long as you're careful and don't damage any of the components accessing the components, you shouldn't need any additional parts or wires, etc. The kit has everything you'll need. Read More...
Zach November 07, 2013 for Model Number prg364gd Thermador I have a thermador oven, model number PRG364GD. I get spark at all four burners when any one is on, and my left burners do not come on at all, but I do get spark when I move the left control knobs. I was thinking of ordering the Potentiometer kit but it could possibly be solenoid failure as well. Does this part (simmer control) directly control the solenoids?
1 Answer Hello Zach, While the potentiometer 00629722 is a common part to fail, The solenoid 00423093 is more common. Normally, when only the burners which are supplied gas through the solenoid are involved, the solenoid is normally the cause. Read More...
