Azad July 13, 2019 for Model Number Thermador PCS484GGUS My surface burners with simmer settings shut off although the knobs are not turned to simmer control. Do I need to a) replace the potentiometers, b) replace the simmer control or c) replace both?
2 Answers Azad, With the burners shutting off on their own then this will most likely be a faulty simmer control. Read More...

2 Answers Azad, based on the information provided, the potentiometer 00189816 would be the most likely issue as it is responsible for sending the proper voltage to the simmer controller 00422882. The simmer controller uses the signal input to open and close the gas solenoid valve. Unfortunately, both items have been discontinued by the manufacturer and are no longer available. Read More...
Ae July 12, 2019 for Model Number PRSG304SS We have had difficulty with the 2 left-side burners not simmering properly or refusing to work at all. Last year we replaced the igniter and all burners worked but the XLO burners would often turn off on their own. Today we were cooking with all 4 burners when I heard a 'pop' and the 2 xls burners went out. Now the igniters do not work and no gas will come out of the burners at all I checked by turning the burner on and placing a flame next to there burner). What is the problem? Thank you!
1 Answer AE, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty simmer control Kit 00497234. Read More...

Fryertuckk88 May 29, 2019 for Model Number PRG486GDUS My model is not within the recall. But I'm finding very little for sale. Is there still value to PRG486GDUS in great working condition?
1 Answer Hello Fryertuckk88, This is a high end product so there is value in it. It is considered a commercial grade appliance. While many of the parts are no longer available from the manufacturer, many of these discontinued parts can be substituted with off brand parts that seem to do as good a job as the original parts. Ben May 29, 2019 for Model Number SGCS365RS For my Thermador 5-burner cooktop, model SGCS365RS, serial 20100672NB, the center top and bottom simmer burners both simultaneously stopped not working. Is the Bosch OEM Simmer Control Kit 497234 (containing 2 simmer potentiometers and 1 replacement simmer controller) compatible with my Thermador model?
1 Answer Ben, this kit would work for your model. Unfortunately this kit has been discontinued and is no longer available. The simmer controller [00422882] is discontinued as well. Read More...
Vernon April 17, 2019 for Model Number PRDS486GDUS My left 2 "lo-simmer" burners have quite working. Since the part 00497234 has been discontinued, is it possible to convert those 2 burners into the same as the other 4 (not having lo-simmer setting)?
1 Answer Vernon, we would not be able to recommend converting the burners over to match up to the other four. As the part that is needed is responsible for opening the gas solenoids, converting the burners would not make a difference because the gas solenoids would not open without the control kit. Tim December 01, 2018 for Model Number Thermador PRG366US Hi--we have a Thermador PRG366US range. The simmer burners quit working. Replaced pots and solenoids and one of the two jets (since it got trashed on removal of the top). And the spark module. Still nothing. The ignitors for those burners work--they do spark when _other_burners are turned on. When we try to turn on either of the simmer burners...no spark, no gas. The replacement pots look identical to the old ones. Is there a simmer control hiding someplace in this stove? I don't see one anywhere...but I'm starting to think it must have one! Where would it be located if so? Thanks so much.
1 Answer Tim, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty simmer control which would need replacing. Read More...
Stuart April 30, 2018 for Model Number Thermador I have a bad POTENTIOMETER Part Number: 00497234 for my Thermador cooktop. The part has been discontinued and is not replaceable. Is there a similar part for a newer model that can be use or adapted to fit?
1 Answer Hello Stuart. Sorry, this part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Read More...
David April 07, 2018 for Model Number Thermador pcs366 This is a six burner cook top. The four standard burners work fine but one simmer burner works ok but the other does not light, spark, nor energize the red indicator light. Is it the pot or the simmer control module?
1 Answer David, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty potentiometer on the unit and will need to be replaced. Read More...
