Mike for Model Number LFFH2067DW2 I believe the compressor for my Frigidaire Up-right freezer has gone out. At first the freezer stopped freezing. And now - when plugged in; nothing is working. Wondering if it better to 1) replace the compressor or 2) buy another entire freezer. The freezer was purchased in 2005 and it is now 2015 - at least 10 years old. Very good shape - exterior and interior. Compressor replacement kit will run $250.00. New freezer unit - $600 to $800. Can a YouTube video walk a amateur such as myself in fixing this unit?
Answer Mike, You will want to do some testing to see if the compressor is actually the issue. On the back of the unit on the left side frame of the opening there is a defrost timer. You will want to turn the dial until it clicks to see if the unit comes back on. This may just be a start relay problem with the unit not cooling and may be a defrost timer issue for it not coming out of defrost. Read More...
