This genuine OEM part is a temperature control thermostat for refrigerators. The temperature control thermostat is the part that regulates and adjusts the temperature settings of the refrigerator. If the refrigerator is no longer maintaining the desired temperature settings, not cooling, or otherwise not operating properly, it will need to be replaced. To replace this part, make sure the refrigerator is unplugged. After unplugging, proceed to open the refrigerator door and remove all the interior shelving. Once removed, proceed to unmount the screws that hold the interior panels in place. Once loosened, remove the panels to access the temperature control thermostat. After locating the part, unthread the mounting screws that secure the thermostat to its housing. After unthreading, pull the old thermostat out and remove the wire harness that it is attached to. Replace it with the new thermostat and proceed to reinstall the interior panels of the refrigerator. This replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with Frigidaire, Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Westinghouse brand refrigerators.

Milton for Model Number GLRS267ZAW6

Hello I have a side by side frigidaire 2003 model. The refrigerator side freezes food and the freezer side appears ok. I have checked the damper door and it stays open, and when unplugged it stays open. The freezer manual control will click when cycled full travel but the refrigerator control will not. Temperature control 240383703 has 3 terminals plus ground should i get continuity through all terminals when i turn it full travel?I get continuity through top and bottom terminals only thanks

Milton, With the issue of the unit freezing in the refrigerator compartment it will be a combination of a faulty thermostat and damper that is causing the damper to stay open. You will want to install the control box kit 5304482075 which is part number to correct this issue.

Roberto, you will need to check or replace the ADC board 5303918476. Power to the fan and the damper assembly originate from the ADC board. The circuits are probably deteriorating and causing both the fan and damper to malfunction.

This unit has worked without a problem for 10 plus years. However, it is now freezing the water filter housing to the point where it cracks and then leaks water all over. After replacing this part twice with the new also cracking I place a thermomator in the fridge area near the water filter and one in the freezer as well. The freezer is "0" or below and the fridge will get down to 20 degrees. Changing the temp controls from the factory setting where they have been all along dosen't impact the fridge area much. It may get up as high as 32 degrees. The air damper can be heard opening & closing. When turning the freezer temp control knob you here it click. Both fans work fine. Any ideas would be appreciated greatly!

Freezer coil froze. Control Box starts clicking sounds like the damper is stuck. Turn both control knobs off. I hear the damper closing, turn them back on damper opens, cold air is coming in the fridge compartment after a while it stops and its spitting out air in intervals. Found an diagram attached it said to manually start the defrost depress the light bottom 5 times in 6 seconds. This part worked help me to understand the logistics of it. Oliver

Hello Oliver. If you are having problems with the defrost on the unit, and if manually tested, it works, you will need to replace the ADC 5303918476 on the unit.

Hello Willie, Unplug the unit from the wall outlet and remove the three screws along the bottom of the control panel. These three screws thread straight up towards the ceiling. There is one screw you will need to remove that threads towards the freezer compartment up behind the control panel. now you will need to remove the screw from the cover on the freezer side at the top right of the freezer compartment. This will allow you to slightly depress the hooking tabs at each corner of the air duct between the freezer and fresh food compartments. Now go back to the fresh food section and remove the screw at the rear top holding the assembly to the wall of the fresh food compartment. This should allow you to pull the assembly away from the wall and unplug the electrical connection to the ceiling. Now you can remove the assembly and complete the repair on the counter top. At this point, you should take several pictures with your cell phone so you can get the assembly back together as it originally was so it will go back together properly. Re-assembly is in the reverse order of the dis-assembly. One point, do not tighten any of the screws until you have started all of the screws. Tightening them down will prevent you from peeking between the parts to line the next screw up with the screw hole.

My frigidaire refrigerator is freezing food in refrigerator. It seems to keep running even after food is frozen. Water filter is frozen as no water will dispense. I have lowed temperature setting which doesn't help. I can turn to 0 and the damper makes click and appears to close and no air come thru vent. I then turn setting back to normal but damper and fan don't start for about 30-40 minutes. During this time the water line or filter will unfreeze and water will dispense until it freezes again. Which part needs to be replaced? Thanks.

1 Answer

Hello Brian, This sounds like the fresh food temperature control (AP2116225) has failed.
