This genuine OEM part is a temperature control thermostat for refrigerators. The temperature control thermostat is the part that regulates and adjusts the temperature settings of the refrigerator. If the refrigerator is no longer maintaining the desired temperature settings, not cooling, or otherwise not operating properly, it will need to be replaced. To replace this part, make sure the refrigerator is unplugged. After unplugging, proceed to open the refrigerator door and remove all the interior shelving. Once removed, proceed to unmount the screws that hold the interior panels in place. Once loosened, remove the panels to access the temperature control thermostat. After locating the part, unthread the mounting screws that secure the thermostat to its housing. After unthreading, pull the old thermostat out and remove the wire harness that it is attached to. Replace it with the new thermostat and proceed to reinstall the interior panels of the refrigerator. This replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with Frigidaire, Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Westinghouse brand refrigerators.

For Frigidaire Temperature Control Thermostat (Part Number: OEM6348684)

David S for Model Number GLRS267ZAW6

Hello I have a side by side frigidaire 2003 model. The refrigerator side freezes food and the freezer side appears ok. I have checked the damper door and it stays open, but when unplugged it closes. The closing spring is in tack and the door isn't damaged. I removed the evaporator core panel and there is a frost buildup on the evaporator core however it is all even. The freezer manual control will click when cycled full travel but the refrigerator control will not. I believe the refrigerator thermostat and the defrost temperature probe on the evaporator require replacement. Looking for a positive confirmation before replacing parts. Thank you in advance for any reply dave

David, If you have an even frost pattern from top to bottom on the evaporator then there would not be an issue with the defrost system. The refrigerator thermostat would be the most likely cause for the unit to be freezing on the refrigerator side if the damper is staying open.

I have a problem similar to "Dan." The freezer is fine, but the refrigerated side is warm. If I turn the thermostat to coldest, then tap the housing, the damper opens. When I turn it down, the damper closes. When I turn it back to coldest, the damper stays closed until I tap, then it always opens. I had the assembly out to inspect, and found that on the thermostat, there is always continuity between the black terminal (hot wire) and the pink wire that runs to the damper control. This was true no matter where the knob was set. I didn't think to tap it until I put the assembly back. I know that I could replace the whole assembly, but wouldn't it be cheaper to replace just the thermostat? Is it sold that way, or is there a reason to replace the whole thing? Thanks.

Milk is freezing in the refrigerator. I checked the air flow, and no matter where I set the refrigerator temp. control the damper door stayed 100% open, until I turned it to 0, the damper then closed. I reset the control to "normal" but nothing happened. The damper door stayed closed. I proceeded to disassemble the control box. When I loosened the box from the refrigerator side, the damper opened, 100%. I removed the damper assembly from the control box, it would not operate with the refrig. temp control. I re-installed the control box and contents to their original position. Turn the refig. temp control to normal, the damper door opend 100%, I once again set the temp. control to 0 the damper closed, I set the control back to normal...the damper stayed closed. I was able to get the damper to open once again, but it remained opened 100%. It seems to me, that the refrig. temp. control isn't working properly. Any other ideas? Thank You.

Refrigerator is warm (50 F), but freezer is cooling as it should. I think I have narrowed the issue down between the refrigerator temp control (240383703) and the damper (241600902), but I'm not sure which one is the real issue. No air was flowing from the damper when I started troubleshooting. First test: I opened the damper all the way by hand, powered up the fridge, and then turned the temp control to defrost. The damper closed, but would not re-open when I took the temp control off defrost. Second test: I opened the damper half-way by hand, powered up the fridge, and then turned the temp control to defrost. Nothing happened. I cannot determine whether this is an issue with the temp control or damper. If it helps, last week we had the same problem. It seemed to correct itself, then the fridge started to freeze everything for a few days (damper 100% open?). I turned temp control to defrost and then it was back at 50 degrees (damper stuck closed?). Thanks for your help!

Hello Allison. The timer 215846602 is located inside the control ont he unit. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Eric, It sounds as if though your unit is sticking in defrost or if the unit is sitting in temperatures below 55 degrees. The ambient temperature of the room must be above 55 degrees for the unit to operate properly. If the unit is sticking in defrost it may be a bad control board 5303918476.

Dan for Model Number frs26h5asb4

My freezer side is working fine but the refrigerator side is warm. When I turn the thermostat off the damper closes and when I turn it back on to cooler it opens "sometimes". It blows cold out of the the vent but the problem is sometimes it doesnt open when it should. If the damper is shut when it should be open I can lightly tap in front between the control knobs and it clicks then the damper opens. I dont know if replacing the whole damper assembly will fix whatever is hanging up by the controll knobs.

Hello Steve, You need to verify whether the compressor is running or not. If it is, you have most likely experienced a sealed system restriction or freon loss. If it is running, you will need to check the connections to the compressor from the control board. If voltage is not present frm the control board, it will require replacement. We can render further assistance if we could Please get you to verify the model number. It doesn't pull up as valid.

Hello Jason, This sounds like the damper assembly has failed. The first thing you need to do is to make sure there is no frost build-up that is preventing the damper from closing. In periods of high humidity, there can be a frost build-up develop during the amount of time it takes to put the groceries away if the door is left standing open for the duration. If there is no frost build-up in the damper assembly, replace the control box assembly 5304482075 which is the assembly you order to get the damper assembly.
