The Icemaker Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire refrigerators. This assembly is responsible for producing and dispensing ice cubes, ensuring that you always have a steady supply of ice for your beverages or food storage needs.

Causes of a bad Icemaker Assembly include mechanical wear and tear that affects the ice ejector arms or the heating element that loosens the ice, and electronic failures that impair the control module's ability to regulate the ice-making process.

Symptoms of a bad Icemaker Assembly include:

  • Failure to produce ice
  • Producing small or misshapen ice cubes
  • Leaking water in the freezer compartment
  • Unusual noises during the ice-making cycle

Fits many Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerators where the icemaker mounts to the back wall of the freezer compartment.

If you experience an issue with the arm hitting the shelf, you may also need to replace the shelf due to manufacturer changes; part number 241691701,

Teched for Model Number FFHB2750TP3

My ice maker is making smaller that expected ice cube. They are 1”x1”x .75 tall with four tapered sides. This ice maker is located in the upper left corner of fresh food compartment. I fully loaded a glass coffee mug with ice and then filled it with water from its 70 F degrees dispencer. The water and ice initial temperature of about 40 F degrees. It took about 60 minutes to desolve the ice at 70 F degrees room temperature to desolve the ice. Is this ice cube size normal? Can the ice cube size be adjusted/made larger? Do I need a repair appointment? None of the above?

1 Answer

Teched, There is no adjustment on the size and shape depends on the mold of the ice maker.I would say size is normal for the issue of ice coming thru the chute.

Mike, The water valve on this unit could possibly leak if the solenoid does not close completely and all water to drip when not calling for ice.Part # 242252702 is your water valve. Also make sure you have no frost built up inside freezer door edges or ice on food as if a door seal was failing.

Kt for Model Number frigidaire ice maker p/n 241709804 model# im 20-1

Hi there. My ice maker seems to have slowed to a crawl. Making very little ice per day. Even on quick ice setting it’s the same result. The cubes seem to be normal size and are leaving the ice cube tray fine. Is it possible the water is taking a long time to fill the trays? What should we be checking? My his husband plans to pull the fridge out and make sure there’s no block in the line behind the fridge. Our water function is working completely normal. Thanks Kt

Kt, You will want to check the freezer temp to make sure that it is between 0 and 5 degrees. Also check to make sure that the evaporator fan motor is running. Check to make sure that the condenser coils are clean.

Hello Charlese, this unit does not have an icemaker that you can adjust. You'll want to make sure that water is not continuously flowing into the icemaker. If so, you'll want to replace the water valve part number 242253002. Hope this helps!

Curt for Model Number plhs269zdb5

New parts are IN BOLD My ice maker never fills with water. I ordered a replacement ICE MAKER from you that did not remedy my problem. I subsequently replaced the WATER INLET VALVE then the DISPENSER CONTROL BOARD. The in-door water dispenser works just as it should. The problem appears to be that a signal is never sent to the Inlet Valve to fill the tray. I have manually started a harvest cycle then waited to capture the voltage signal sent to the inlet valve requesting the fill water. There was never any voltage sent to the Inlet valve for the Ice maker. As I mentioned, the water dispenser works fine so I know it it not a water supply or power to the main fill valve problem. The only common element I have found is the ice maker itself. Unfortunately my original stopped working and the new one from you doesn't work either. So, I'm stuck. What component is in common to both ice makers that would cause no signal being sent to the Ice Maker fill valve, while the main fill works fine allowing the dispenser to work?

1 Answer

Curt, It would be recommended to check the fill tube to ensure that the fill tube is not frozen which will be the most likely cause for no water to come into the icemaker. For this issue if there is no power getting to the water valve then this will most likely be an issue with the icemaker itself or possibly a wiring issue within the unit.

Dwayne, You will want to cycle the icemaker and make sure that there is 120 vac to the water valve. If there is but no water to the icemaker then check for the fill tube to be frozen and if it is not then it will be a faulty water valve.
