The Icemaker Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire refrigerators. This assembly is responsible for producing and dispensing ice cubes, ensuring that you always have a steady supply of ice for your beverages or food storage needs.

Causes of a bad Icemaker Assembly include mechanical wear and tear that affects the ice ejector arms or the heating element that loosens the ice, and electronic failures that impair the control module's ability to regulate the ice-making process.

Symptoms of a bad Icemaker Assembly include:

  • Failure to produce ice
  • Producing small or misshapen ice cubes
  • Leaking water in the freezer compartment
  • Unusual noises during the ice-making cycle

Fits many Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerators where the icemaker mounts to the back wall of the freezer compartment.

If you experience an issue with the arm hitting the shelf, you may also need to replace the shelf due to manufacturer changes; part number 241691701,

For Frigidaire Icemaker Assembly (Part Number: OEM12898011)

Harvey for Model Number PLHS39EESS1

I am replacing a rear-wall mounted ice maker for Frigidaire fridge model PLHS39EESS1. While it appears that this is the correct replacement part, the on/off toggle switch on the original ice-maker is vertical and the one on the unit on the website is horizontal. This would seem unimportant, however, the freezer shelf that goes over the ice-maker has a vertical cut-out to match the vertical on/off switch. Are there similar replacement ice-makers with a vertical switch?

1 Answer

Harvey, This is the correct icemaker for the unit and the manufacturer redesigned it. With the redesign it has the horizontal switch and the vertical switch icemaker is not available.

Terry T for Model Number FSC23F7DSB3

Ice maker does not produce any ice. No evidence of water coming into it. It will manually rotate and the control arm goes up and down. In door water dispenser works fine. I removed water control/solenoids and put 110 v to each of the valve's contacts and each valve will hum and allows air pressure. To come out (I couldn't do this while installed). Can you help me diagnose if ice maker itself is bad or am I not evaluating the water controls well enough.

1 Answer

Terry, The first thing to check is to make sure that the icemaker fill tube is not frozen. Pull the icemaker out and check to make sure that there is not ice build up in the tube that comes to the icemaker. If there is ice in it then you would want to clear the ice and replace the water valve as the valve is not seating properly and staying open slightly causing seepage and the fill tube to freeze.

Hello Darrel, The icemaker has a heater in the mold that should enable it to flip the cubes out of the icemaker mold. If it doesn't, the new icemaker still has an issue.

Maria, You will want to pull the ice bin out and check the solenoid to make sure that it is in the down position and not stuck up. The solenoid will be next to the auger in the square opening. If the solenoid arm is up then using a screw driver and pop it down as it is frozen in place. If that checks ok then most likely the solenoid.

Blaine, You will want to pull the control board and make sure that there are no pinched wires. Also check to make sure that there is power getting to the auger motor. If everything is working then it sounds like the auger motor may be faulty. If there is power to the auger then replace auger assembly.

Bernadine, It sounds like the crush/cube solenoid may be stuck in the up position and causing the arm on the bin to catch it. You will want to check this and also check to make sure that the solenoid is in the down position.

Don, When installing the ice stripper you would put the right side in first. You have to make sure that everything is lined up properly when you put the head on. If not aligned properly then it will not slide all the way on. There is no special method to installing the parts.

Janis P for Model Number PHS69EJSSO

The unit continuously seizes up (has since I purchased it) - doesn't complete the rotation, water overfills - if you jiggle it and play with the switch, it will sometimes start working again. Does it sound like I need to replace the entire icemaker? Any other parts? My Model is PHS69EJSSO - I am having a hard time trying to find the right part. When I put my model number in, it takes me to a part, but then when I re-enter the model number it says the part is not compatible. Very frustrating - need your help.

Hello Janis. Based on the information you provided, you need to replace the assembly. 5303918344 is the correct one for the model number you provided.

Aziz for Model Number Ice Maker 5303918344

I have Ice Maker 5303918344 on my Frigidaire, I replaced water filter with Frigidaire Pure Source 2 Water Filter, Ice maker started to shape ice cubes connected to each other, and recently excess of water stick ice (which are not cube anymore) to revolving dispenser shaft (item 1B in Diagram). However, Ice maker works fine when i put old filter back again. Seems water flow with new filter is more then capacity of ice maker. I found an adjustment screw behind left cover with -/+ sign beside it. I am wondering if the screw would adjust the water supply timing and solve the problem? please advise.

1 Answer

Hello Aziz. Yes, try adjusting to - and see if the problem is fixed. If not, replace the water valve on the unit.
