Harvey May 27, 2014 for Model Number PLHS39EESS1 I am replacing a rear-wall mounted ice maker for Frigidaire fridge model PLHS39EESS1. While it appears that this is the correct replacement part, the on/off toggle switch on the original ice-maker is vertical and the one on the unit on the website is horizontal. This would seem unimportant, however, the freezer shelf that goes over the ice-maker has a vertical cut-out to match the vertical on/off switch. Are there similar replacement ice-makers with a vertical switch?
1 Answer Harvey, This is the correct icemaker for the unit and the manufacturer redesigned it. With the redesign it has the horizontal switch and the vertical switch icemaker is not available. Read More...
Terry T March 14, 2014 for Model Number FSC23F7DSB3 Ice maker does not produce any ice. No evidence of water coming into it. It will manually rotate and the control arm goes up and down. In door water dispenser works fine. I removed water control/solenoids and put 110 v to each of the valve's contacts and each valve will hum and allows air pressure. To come out (I couldn't do this while installed). Can you help me diagnose if ice maker itself is bad or am I not evaluating the water controls well enough.
1 Answer Terry, The first thing to check is to make sure that the icemaker fill tube is not frozen. Pull the icemaker out and check to make sure that there is not ice build up in the tube that comes to the icemaker. If there is ice in it then you would want to clear the ice and replace the water valve as the valve is not seating properly and staying open slightly causing seepage and the fill tube to freeze. Darrell March 06, 2014 for Model Number GHSC239DB0 Icemaker makes ice but will not trip them out. We replaced ice making unit but does the same thing. Any other things we can try?
1 Answer Hello Darrel, The icemaker has a heater in the mold that should enable it to flip the cubes out of the icemaker mold. If it doesn't, the new icemaker still has an issue. Read More...
Maria February 14, 2014 for Model Number GLHS68EGPBO Our icemaker no longer makes crushed ice even though the "crush" button on the outside of the fridge is lit in green. It continues to make cubed ice whether cube or crush is selected. What part(s) need to be replaced so we can have crushed ice?
1 Answer Maria, You will want to pull the ice bin out and check the solenoid to make sure that it is in the down position and not stuck up. The solenoid will be next to the auger in the square opening. If the solenoid arm is up then using a screw driver and pop it down as it is frozen in place. If that checks ok then most likely the solenoid. Read More...
Blaine K December 28, 2013 for Model Number GHSC239DB0 When ice maker actuator is activated, round door activates, ice door in ice tray releases, but ice does not flow down. It appears that auger is not turning. This happened just after I replaced water actuator, which required removal of circuit board.
1 Answer Blaine, You will want to pull the control board and make sure that there are no pinched wires. Also check to make sure that there is power getting to the auger motor. If everything is working then it sounds like the auger motor may be faulty. If there is power to the auger then replace auger assembly. Read More...
Kevin October 14, 2013 for Model Number 241709804 I have a Frigidaire Side-by-Side that uses ice maker part number 241709804 that has the manual off/on/manual advance rocker switch on it. We noticed that it stopped making ice and found that nothing works. It won't even manually advance if I hold it down for 15 seconds. Not sure if the water supply solenoid if bad will kill the power to the whole unit? Shouldn't the manual advance work all the time? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Kevin. If it does not manually advance, then the icemaker is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Bernadine September 24, 2013 for Model Number frs26hf6bq2 I removed the ice maker from my Frigidaire side-by-side, cleaned it all out, now the ice maker will not go all the way in.
1 Answer Bernadine, It sounds like the crush/cube solenoid may be stuck in the up position and causing the arm on the bin to catch it. You will want to check this and also check to make sure that the solenoid is in the down position. Read More...
Don September 13, 2013 for Model Number 25344352408 What is the best way to re-install the ice stripper. Whjen I try to insert the peg in the right side and try to slip the left side in place, the left side will not go into place. There must be something holding it up. When I insert the left side first, it will go into place, but then I can't get the right side hole around the peg. There must be a trick to this. Please help.
1 Answer Don, When installing the ice stripper you would put the right side in first. You have to make sure that everything is lined up properly when you put the head on. If not aligned properly then it will not slide all the way on. There is no special method to installing the parts. Read More...
Janis P September 13, 2013 for Model Number PHS69EJSSO The unit continuously seizes up (has since I purchased it) - doesn't complete the rotation, water overfills - if you jiggle it and play with the switch, it will sometimes start working again. Does it sound like I need to replace the entire icemaker? Any other parts? My Model is PHS69EJSSO - I am having a hard time trying to find the right part. When I put my model number in, it takes me to a part, but then when I re-enter the model number it says the part is not compatible. Very frustrating - need your help.
1 Answer Hello Janis. Based on the information you provided, you need to replace the assembly. 5303918344 is the correct one for the model number you provided. Read More...
Aziz July 17, 2013 for Model Number Ice Maker 5303918344 I have Ice Maker 5303918344 on my Frigidaire, I replaced water filter with Frigidaire Pure Source 2 Water Filter, Ice maker started to shape ice cubes connected to each other, and recently excess of water stick ice (which are not cube anymore) to revolving dispenser shaft (item 1B in Diagram). However, Ice maker works fine when i put old filter back again. Seems water flow with new filter is more then capacity of ice maker. I found an adjustment screw behind left cover with -/+ sign beside it. I am wondering if the screw would adjust the water supply timing and solve the problem? please advise.
1 Answer Hello Aziz. Yes, try adjusting to - and see if the problem is fixed. If not, replace the water valve on the unit. Read More...
