C.L.O. April 27, 2013 for Model Number rm18f6ws1e I replaced the existing add on icemaker because it filled and didnt harvest the ice, we thought the mold heater went out on it. The new icemaker we put in "ERP ERWIM", replacement for whirlpool, amana D7824706Q, and so we had to make harness work and got some round plug terminals to get to fit. and got it in last night, filled with water, and this morning no ice ejected again. What should we do next?
1 Answer Hello C.L.O. Check and make sure the wiring connections are good and the temp in the freezer is 0°. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Cecil M April 12, 2013 for Model Number FRT18IL6DW4 I replaced my icemaker & water valve with solenoid, it still only works part time. It seems to be getting plenty of water. Help please!!!!!
1 Answer Cecil, You will want to check the temperature in the freezer. If the temperature is not right then the icemaker will not cycle properly. The unit is designed to cycle approximately every 2 hours when temp is set for 0 degrees. Check for defrost failure or not a good frost pattern on the coils. Make sure that the condenser coils are clean and that the condenser fan motor if equipped is running. Read More...

John January 29, 2013 for Model Number FSC23F7TDWO I am considering ordering PN 5303918344 to replace my original PN 241627701 for my Fridge model FSC23F7TDWO. I read in a previous response that this replacement part includes a part to adapt the nine port connector to the four connections that go to the ice maker and the five that go to the ice dispenser. I'm having difficulty understanding how that adaptor will work. Can you explain or send image/instructions?
1 Answer Hello John, There is a 4 prong connection on the icemaker. The wire harness from the dispenser assembly will have a connector for the icemaker to attach to. Read More...

Rodney November 28, 2012 for Model Number FRS26TS7DW2 my ice maker is running but the ice mold is not filling. Could it be a switch thinking its full of ice? Or fill solenoid, water dispenser on door is working ? or frozen line? Wwhat is the easiest way to check these items and in what order? I believe I hear the solenoid working.
1 Answer Hello Rodney, The way the unit operates is off a thermostat. The thermostat tells the icemaker 5303918344 to eject the ice but has nothing to do with filling with water. You would want to pull icemaker out and check to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. If it is frozen then this means that either the water valve 242252702 is seeping, the water filter WF2CB is bad or you have low water pressure. If all these check ok and the fill tube is not frozen then you need to check to make sure that the water valve is getting voltage. You should get 120vac across the valve when the icemaker calls for ice. If you have voltage then you will need to replace the valve. If no power you would want to replace the icemaker. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
