The Icemaker Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire refrigerators. This assembly is responsible for producing and dispensing ice cubes, ensuring that you always have a steady supply of ice for your beverages or food storage needs.

Causes of a bad Icemaker Assembly include mechanical wear and tear that affects the ice ejector arms or the heating element that loosens the ice, and electronic failures that impair the control module's ability to regulate the ice-making process.

Symptoms of a bad Icemaker Assembly include:

  • Failure to produce ice
  • Producing small or misshapen ice cubes
  • Leaking water in the freezer compartment
  • Unusual noises during the ice-making cycle

Fits many Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerators where the icemaker mounts to the back wall of the freezer compartment.

If you experience an issue with the arm hitting the shelf, you may also need to replace the shelf due to manufacturer changes; part number 241691701,

Hello Moshe. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Ice maker suddenly stopped making ice. I think it might be the switch. On the switch is a power button and when I press up for off the button sticks. When I press down for ON, the button will not stick. Could this be the issue? If so, do I need a whole new ice maker (model 241627701) or can the power button simply be replaced? I noticed even with the button not sticking in the ON position, 2-3 tiny ice cubes are made. Is that a water pressure issue? Lastly does this freezer have hidden controls anywhere to reveal temperature or do I need to place something in the freezer to test?

Hello Haifa. Make sure the filter is good. If not, it will cause this issue. If it is good, replace the water valve. Also, make sure the temp is 0 to 5° in the freezer.

Hello Mark. The water fill can be adjusted without removing the ice maker cover. To adjust the fill size, remove the small round plug next to the On/Off Switch. Insert a #2 Phillips screwdriver into the hole about an inch or until it engages the Water Fill Adjustment Screw. Turn the screw clockwise to reduce the fill size; turn the screw counterclockwise to increase the fill size. One turn equals approx 20cc (0.68 oz). The correct fill is 85 to 95cc (2.75 to 3.25 oz). When a water valve is replaced, check the fill volume.

Michael F for Model Number LECR23EFE0

Ice maker recently stopped working. I can hold the internal power switch for 15 seconds, and the I/M goes through one of its cycles. The issue is that there is no water to the I/M. I have verified that the tube is clear. When I swap the yellow connector to the green solenoid, and press the paddle for the water, I can get the green solenoid to open and pass water all the way to the I/M. When I test the voltage to the green connector, the is no voltage, even when the speed ice option is chosen. If I order a replacement I/M, will this supple the voltage signal to the green connector to allow the solenoid to open and deliver water up to the ice maker? Thanks.

Michael, Based on the description of what has already been done and the issue, this would be a faulty icemaker not calling for water at the specified time to produce ice.

Hello Tom. Sorry, there is no adjustment. If the arm is installed into the head properly, then you will need to replace the icemaker in the unit.

Joe, There should have been a plastic piece that came with the icemaker that goes on the bottom part of the bail arm to help with the icemaker to shut off. Unfortunately it is not available separately and is the only thing that there is for this issue.
