Terry T for Model Number FSC23F7DSB3 Ice maker does not produce any ice. No evidence of water coming into it. It will manually rotate and the control arm goes up and down. In door water dispenser works fine. I removed water control/solenoids and put 110 v to each of the valve's contacts and each valve will hum and allows air pressure. To come out (I couldn't do this while installed). Can you help me diagnose if ice maker itself is bad or am I not evaluating the water controls well enough.
Answer Terry, The first thing to check is to make sure that the icemaker fill tube is not frozen. Pull the icemaker out and check to make sure that there is not ice build up in the tube that comes to the icemaker. If there is ice in it then you would want to clear the ice and replace the water valve as the valve is not seating properly and staying open slightly causing seepage and the fill tube to freeze.
