The Icemaker Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire refrigerators. This assembly is responsible for producing and dispensing ice cubes, ensuring that you always have a steady supply of ice for your beverages or food storage needs.

Causes of a bad Icemaker Assembly include mechanical wear and tear that affects the ice ejector arms or the heating element that loosens the ice, and electronic failures that impair the control module's ability to regulate the ice-making process.

Symptoms of a bad Icemaker Assembly include:

  • Failure to produce ice
  • Producing small or misshapen ice cubes
  • Leaking water in the freezer compartment
  • Unusual noises during the ice-making cycle

Fits many Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerators where the icemaker mounts to the back wall of the freezer compartment.

If you experience an issue with the arm hitting the shelf, you may also need to replace the shelf due to manufacturer changes; part number 241691701,

Hello Norm, Check the fill tube at the back of the cabinet where the water pours in. Many times, when the water valve fails, the fill tube will freeze solid. If this ice is clear, it is invisible until you try to run something into the fill tube. If it is frozen, you can thaw it out in about 15 minutes by blowing it with a hair dryer.

Hello Michael. Based on the model number you provided, 5304458371 is the correct icemaker for the unit. This icemaker does have the large gear behind the white cover that can be turned to advance the icemaker and cycle the icemaker. You need to use a straight screwdriver and turn the gear about 1/4 round to start the icemaker.

Hello Michael, This depends on two things: operating temperature inside the freezer compartment and the temperature of the water upon fill. Normally an icemaker that is inside a freezer that doesn't drop below 0°F, (as recommended by the manufacturers), with water no warmer than 70°F will cycle about every 90 minutes. It takes about two and a half minutes for the cycle to complete. One thing I must mention that greatly affects harvest time is how often the door is opened. Think about it like this: Cold air is heavier than warm air. When the door is opened, the cold air drops out and warm, room temperature air rushes in to take its' place. This means that each time the door is opened, the harvest time is extended by at least 20 minutes, (depending on how much is in the unit to hold the temperature down). This means basically that if you are checking on the icemaker every hour or so, the unit cannot produce the ice that it could if the door were left closed. Cycling the icemaker on a GE style can be done by grasping the harvest fingers and pulling them to rotate in a clockwise direction. You can hear the icemaker motor running when it starts cycling on its' own.

Hello Michael. If the icemaker will cycle and make 6 to 8 cubes and won't continue to cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker 5303918344. If the unit cycles, but is not filling with water, you may have a bad water filter wfcb, or the water valve 242252702 is bad and will need to be replaced.

Benjamin for Model Number PHSC39EESS1 Ice Maker PN241621901

Our ice maker was not dispensing ice properly. The cubes would get stuck on the top of the ice maker and would not drop into the Ice bind. I removed the ice maker and cleaned it off and reinstalled. Now the system keeps cycling the water and it keep fill up with water and won't stop cycling to fill the trays with water. I see the replacement ice maker, but I don't see the harness wiring. First is there something I can do to adjust the present unit for proper operation? If not are the harness wiries included with the ice maker. Thank you Benjamin

ICE MAKER HAS STOPPED. After returning from a trip the icemaker bin was full. We used all that ice, no new ice. I checked all the water connections- OK, water dispenser works fine. I found the water filler tube in the upper left rear corner of the freezer was clogged with ice. I used a hair dryer to melt the ice. All water and electrical connections seem fine.Holding down the on/off switch causes the ice ejector to move. Any other ideas or do I need to replace the whole unit?

Brian for Model Number LGHC2342LF2

Our icemaker seems to work fine, (creating and dispensing ice), but about a week ago we started hearing a loud whirling sound when it cycles through the dispensing process. We have had this unit for over a year and this is the first time we could actually hear this sound. It always occurs when the ice is being ejected from the maker, (or when manually cycled with the on/off switch). Could we have gears stripping out or is something else happening?

Hello Brian, When the icemaker 5303918344 starts making this noise, it is in the process of complete failure. I would turn it off until I could replace it to avoid flooding the house as this condition can cause the icemaker to stick in any given position, including the fill.

The Genz for Model Number Frigidaire GLHS38

My ice maker does not fill all 8 ice cube compartments. I have changed the water filter, set the water adjustment screw to the max. I know it is at max because I removed the unit and backed the screw up until I heard the solenoid click and then turned the screw CW 1/2 turn. If the adjustment screw is backed off too far, then the water does not shut off and water over flows. If the ice compartments are not filled to the max, then they are not connected together as one long string and individually they get caught in the exit slot and then the slip clutch sits and ratchets until I dislodge the ice cube. I am quessing the water fill is on a timer, but my water flow is not strong enough to fill all 8 ice cube compartments. What can I do to get more water in the ice compartments?
