Hello Tom. Based on the information you provided, you will need to order and replace the icemaker in the unit. Just make sure it is not overfilling and causing the issue. If so, you will need to replace the water valve on the unit.

Hello Dani, The only issue with the filtration system is water pressure. If you drop below the specified pressure for the water valve, it will cause ice maker production issues up to and including ice production stoppage. There are accessories available that can kick the water pressure back up. I would check the water pressure at the output of the filtration system and go from there in making my decision. As far as changing the ice maker, I would be more likely to remove it and clean it out with hot white vinegar. The lines in the unit are the greater concern. Mineral deposits tend to stick inside the lines and of course mineral deposits stick to mineral deposits, so the longer you let it go, the more severe the issue will become. I would add an external filter GXRTDR in-line just before the water supply connects to the unit. These are cheaper than the on-board filters and are not hard to change. This would keep more of the sedimentation and mineral deposits out of the unit.

Water dispensing from door but no water going up to icemaker. checked water inlet valve for continunity, that was good. checked water supply line going to icemaker and that was dry. filter was recently changed prior to problem. I still replaced water inlet valve with your part #241734302 but the problem is still there, no water going to icemaker nor supply line up to IM. At times I could hear a kind of reving sound coming from IM How do I position ice ejector fingers in the 7 o' position? What is your professional advise to fix this problem. Thanks

Hello Gran, You will want to check to make sure that the fill tube that comes from the back wall of freezer into the icemaker is not frozen. If frozen then clear ice and cycle icemaker. Icemaker can be advanced by removing front cover and turning small wheel with flat blade screwdriver counter clockwise. Since you already replaced the water valve this is good because a seeping water valve could cause the fill tube to freeze.

Hello Chris, Icemaker cycling all the time would have water running throughout the freezer compartment from continuously filling. If the ice is not too small or hollow cubes then it would be working properly. If you are noticing hollow cubes you may want to check your filter to make sure that it is not bad causing the icemaker to draw too little water.

Hello Jerry, You are correct. The reason it is doing this is there are contacts in the ice maker control head that can stick. This is what is causing your issue.

Hello Linda, Reach inside the freezer and grasp the harvest rake that drags the cubes out. Turn the fingers clockwise a couple of inches while holding in the freezer door switch. If it slowly rotates around and fills with water, the ice maker is in need of replacement. If it still does nothing, try wiggling the connector where the ice maker plugs in at the back. Remember that many wiring configurations does not allow the ice maker to cycle if the door is open. This is the reason you are holding the door switch in. The door switch could also be the issue. Try this and let us know if you require further assistance.

Hello Shell. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Jeff. If the unit is tripping the breaker, you have a short somewhere and will need to locate the short for the unit to work properly.
