Dede June 22, 2015 for Model Number JVM3160DFBB Your book with the microwave say to get a JX81L charcoal filter. I can not find this number that says it fits the JVM3160DFBB unit. Why?
Jeff January 27, 2015 for Model Number JVM1440WD001 I have what appears to be a couple of removable aluminum screen filters over the range and under the microwave unit. I can't tell if those filters are complete or if there is supposed to be a charcoal filter that goes with it. When I took it out I didn't see anything that resembles charcoal with that screen unless it is built into the mesh somehow. Am I missing something or do I just need the screens that are there now?
1 Answer Hello Jeff. There is no charcoal used in the lower filters. The charcoal is in the top vent location behind the grill of the unit. Read More...
Jeff K. September 27, 2014 for Model Number SCA1001FSS001 I own a GE Advantium SCA1001 that does not vent outside. The cooking smells last all day in the kitchen. I have cleaned the 2 metal reusable vent filters which are accessible from underneath. However, my manual discusses changing the charcoal filter WB2X9883. I have removed the top grill cover, but there is no filter, nor can I see where one goes. I would appreciate your help.
1 Answer Jeff, if your microwave is set up to recirculate the air in the room during installation a charcoal filter, part number WB2X9883, should have been installed. Please see pages 19-22 of "RECIRCULATING (Non-Vented Ductless)" installation instructions for your model on the following link. Hope this helps you, thanks. http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=003677271.PDF Read More...
Mike June 09, 2014 for Model Number Wb2x9883 Should the air flow into the charcoal side or the aluminum mesh side?
J.P. May 01, 2014 for Model Number jvm6175ef1es I have read your FAQ's about charcoal filters, thank you. My problem is that my sales person (Lowes) ordered a charcoal filter that is 6 1/4 X 4. I have no idea where this goes. My aluminum filter is 13 3/8 X 5 7/8. Will your filter WB02X1124 fit and if so, where? Is there an illustration somewhere? Thanks, John P.
1 Answer Hello JP! Yes, the charcoal filter WB02X11124 will work on your model JVM6175EF1ES. The charcoal filter is only used if the unit is set up to recirculate air back into the room. Please see the following user manual link from the manufacturer site and refer to page 28 for filter replacements. Hope this helps you, thanks! http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40700.pdf Read More...

Liz December 13, 2013 for Model Number JVM1331WW002 I have the JVM1331WW 002 model (over the stove microwave.) I don't think it has a charcoal filter, does it ?? What filter will fit this model? Also, when installing, does the filter sit right behind the cover vent (above the door) to the microwave or does it have to be installed way back inside/behind the unit? Do you have to disassemble the microwave to install it? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Liz. Yes, WB2X9883 is the filter and it has to go behind the grille vent. You do not have to uninstall to install the filter. Read More...

Diane G. August 14, 2013 for Model Number GE Spacemaker Model #JVM139K 004 Hi - I too noticed that I have no charcoal filter in my GE Spacemaker over the range microwave and I have no outside exhaust. What would be the part # of the charcoal filter - would it be WB02X9883? Also, will it come with directions on where and how to install? I also would like to know what the replacement part # would be for the two grease filters as well. I know they can be soaked with Dawn liquid/water. But I may purchase as well. Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Diane, the charcoal filter is part number WB2X9883. No, the parts do not come with instructions. The charcoal filter is located behind the vent grille. The grease filter is part number WB2X4263. Thanks. Read More...
Charles June 28, 2013 for Model Number PLMVZ169GCC My Frigidaire microwave doesn't seem to have charcoal filters in the bottom to filter grease effectively. I think I see one in the top where the air comes out when the vent is on. Are there charcoal filters that I can install in the bottom two openings (7" x 6.5", I think)? If not, which filter do I need to replace the charcoal one in the top?
1 Answer Charles, the filters located at the bottom of the microwave are the grease filters, part number 5303319568. The charcoal filter is located behind the vent grill and is part number 5304440335. Thanks! Read More...
