Michael January 29, 2012 for Model Number DPSR483EA1WW The inner rim of the dryer is cracked and clothes keep getting snagged (buttons, zippers, etc.). It's not the drum itself and not the front panel, but the plastic lip that sits around the inside of the front panel opening. It might be the drum glide but its hard to tell from the pictures. Plus, this would only solve top half as clothes are getting caught on the top lip and the bottom lip. Any help would be appreciated.

Our green slides were missing when he was checking it out and he thought that all should be white since the 2 left were white. Just wondering since we already have the white slides, can we just use those 4?

It seems to be more pronounced when a load is first placed into the dryer then later in the dry cylce the sound decrease and/or stops I assume as the clothes dry and they're less heavy. Richard August 31, 2011 for Model Number DRSR483ED2WW My GE dryer makes a loud grinding type of sound when started. Then during operation is will make the same loud grinding type sound. But on other occasions it seems to work just fine, with no out of the ordinary noises.

Open the dryer door and then see if you can lift the very top of the drum and stick your finger inbetween the inside of the drum and the top of the inner drum glide. Mike May 05, 2011 for Model Number DQSR483EEOWW My dryer is making squeaking noises. I took the dryer apart and determined that it is the Front Drum Bearing. I noticed that the glides were either missing or badly worn. How can I tell if the Front Drum Bearing also needs to be replaced. Will there be tell-tale wear on the bearing? I was going to replace just the glides but don't want to have to do two repairs if I can avoid it. On a previous question I was told in order to replace the glides I would need to order both the white glides and the green glides. Why the difference? Why not order four white or four green?
