Questions & Answers

For Ge Cooktop Spark Igniter Electrode (Part Number: OEM6061713)

Hello Pandya. Try turning on another burner with the left back and see if the left back will light then. If so, the spark switch WB18T10339 is bad and not the igniter. If it still does not light, test the igniter and see if it is good. It may be a bad spark module WB13X46909. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Russ, To remove the burner bowl you will remove the burner cap, remove the burner head and spark electrode. There will be burner bowl mounting screws that you will remove and then you would just lift the burner bowl out and install the new one.

Precy, If you switched the wire from the effected burner to another burner but left the wire connected to the spark module then the issue would be the electrode. If you removed the wire completely and put on another burner then the spark module will most likely be the cause.

Hello John. To remove the ignitor you will remove the screws securing the burner bowls to the burner. Once removed then you will disconnect the electrode wire from electrode. Electrode should be able to be removed at this time. Make sure power supply to unit is turned off.

Hello Bill, If you are referring to the surface ignitor sparking after the burner is lit, you will need to make sure ground is sufficient to the burner area. The ground, if lost, will cause the spark module to not be able to read the resistance of the flame. This is how the manufacturer solved the issue of the flame blowing out. The spark module is designed to spark as soon as the module doesn't see the circuit resistance with the flame. If the ground is present and sufficient to the burner area that is giving the issue, you either have a bad spark module WB13X46909 or, (less likely but possible), a bad start switch WB18T10339.

Jerry, The electrode WB13K18 does not come with the igniter wires and we would need to have the complete model number to be able to locate the wire needed.

Luis, If the igniter starts to click when you just touch the knob then the ignition switch would most likely be the cause of the issue. You will want to check the continuity of the switches in the off position. If there is continuity then the switch is bad and would need to be replaced.

Hello Mark, You probably got moisture in the start switches (AP3191247). I would try drying them out with a hair dryer. If this doesn't work, you may have to replace them to correct the issue.

Pat, On the Refrigerator you will want to check to see if the motor is getting power when you push on the dispenser lever. You will have to push on the light switch as well as the motor will not turn without doing this. If there is power going to the auger motor then the motor is bad and needs to be replaced. On the range you will need to check the spark switch to make sure that it is not bad. You will want to access the valve and with the switch in the off position, check for continuity. If there is continuity then the switch is bad and would need to be replaced.
