For Ge Refrigerator Water Filter (Part Number: OEM10254192)

Dennis Holcombe for Model Number PFCF1NFWAWW

Question: Can I fix the leak? I installed the replacement water filter WR5710086. I re-plugged the Refrigerator electric plug to the wall. I turned on the freezer ice cube switch to ON. I opened the shut off valve under the kitchen sink. The water filter leaked at the plastic hose brass nut connection. I think the plastic hose that has a built in end fitting that is pushed into the brass female opening is faulty; however, a new hose and plastic union that I expected to ship with the water filter was not included. I think this because your installation video showed a water hose was in with the part. Can you help? Dennis Holcombe dennisdholcombe@me.com 714-580-7456

Dennis, The hose does not come with the water valve or the filter and to change out is to go to the hardware store and get the parts that you need.

Bob, the water filter MWFP should be used with the model provided. However, it may be possible that there may be a frozen water line in the freezer door or the water valve may not be allowing water to pass through. If the water line connector at the bottom of the door is disconnected and water can be dispensed through the line coming from the refrigerator side, then there would be a frozen water line. If not, reconnect the water lines and the larger tubing at the valve going up to the water filter can be removed from the valve and water should dispense from the valve into a cup when the dispenser is activated. If not, then the water valve WR57X10050 has failed.

Sandra, You would want to determine if the icemaker is cycling and on some icemakers there will be a test button you can use to do this. If there is no test button then you could grab the fingers in the icemaker and rotate them slightly to get the motor to kick in. If the icemaker does not cycle then the icemaker is the issue. If the icemaker cycles then test for 120 vac to the water valve for the icemaker to make sure that there is voltage when it calls for water. If there is power then either the fill tube is frozen or the water valve is faulty. if there is not power then the icemaker would be the issue.

Hello Nancy, If the model number is actually PFE29PSDCSS, you will need to order RPWFE. If not, we will need you to verify the model number from your units' I.D. tag and post it in a new question so we can provide you with accurate information.
