Rafael, Yes, you should apply a coat of primer to the area needing to be refinished. You also want to carefully "wet" sand the area before you apply the final finish(preferably 2 coats).

Hello Bob, This unit shows to have two aluminum filters but shows no charcoal filter. If the unit actually has one, you should contact your local GE dealership since the manufacturer has failed to list the part in the units' parts explosion.

Hello David, If you are referring to the two filters that mount underneath the unit over the cook top, the part number is WB06X10288. This is for one filter. If two are required, you will have to order two of them. If your referring to the charcoal filter in the grill above the door, the part number is WB02X10956.

Hello Sandra! Here is the information located from the user manual, hope it helps! Removing and Cleaning the Filter: *To remove, slide it to the outside using the tab. Pull it down and out. *To clean the grease filter, soak it and then swish it around in hot water and detergent. Don’t use ammonia or ammonia products because they will darken the metal. Light brushing can be used to remove embedded dirt. Rinse, shake and let it dry before replacing. *To replace, slide the filter in the frame slot at the outside of the opening. Pull up and in to lock into place.
