Doyle August 18, 2013 for Model Number Ice Maker Model CAN3 Ice maker bail, does not trigger switch to eject ice, unless I move the bail by hand, then it will cycle. Please advise. Is the adjustment under the cover that has a screw with a spring on it and a + or- on it?
1 Answer Doyle, If the icemaker lever is not coming all the back to the front when it finishes cycle then you will want to make sure that the spring on the icemaker is in place. If not it will need to be positioned properly. Read More...
Wallace August 04, 2013 for Model Number GE pfss5rkzcss my ice maker is not working properly. Every once and a while the ice thaws and leaks to the bootom of the floor. When I open the ice cover, ice is in there but it is stuck together as if something is melting it. When I take the ice tray out, there is quit a bit of ice uder it which looks like it might be melting and causing the mess. What do I do? Also, the water dispenser quit working a few months ago. I have replaced the filter and it still doesn't work. Keep in mind, most of the time the ice part works. The ice maker has been working fine except for a couple of times. HELP.
1 Answer Wallace, It sounds like the unit may be sticking in the defrost cycle with the symptoms that you are specifying. If this is the case then you would need to replace the main control board or the defrost thermistor. You can check the defrost thermistor resistance to make sure that it is in range. The range should be 42.5k ohms at 0 degrees, 14.4k ohms at 37 degrees and 5k ohms at 77 degrees. Read More...
Bob July 23, 2013 for Model Number GE GSS25KSWA Both water dispenser and ice maker stop working. I install a filter bypass valve instead of water filter on my 5 yrs old GE fridge. The water dispenser is ok now but the ice maker isn't working. The green light inside the freezer sometime flashing and sometime is solid on. And I can hear a noise when freezer door is open. Can you tell me pls, if the ice maker unit is bad or just the solenoid valve on the back lower part of fridge?

Sat R July 09, 2013 for Model Number ZIS420NMA My water filter was just replaced and now the ice maker is not making ice and water is leaking at the bottom towards the back. I can hear something above making a noise like a valve opening and closing every few minutes. What is is causing the no ice?
1 Answer Sat R, You will want to pull out the icemaker and check for a frozen fill tub and fill cup. If frozen then clear and let the unit cycle. If it blocks up again then you would need to replace the water valve. Read More...
Lee H July 09, 2013 for Model Number PFSS2MIXA I have a GE Profile PFSS2MIXA. French door, bottom freezer. The icemaker has quit working. I have turned off the light, turned off IM for 15 seconds, turned on IM, then pushed in the paddle bar 3 times within 6 seconds. IM makes a slight whirring noise, but nothing else. If I put my finger in the tray, there is a little water in it. Normally in the past I could hear the water coming in with the door closed. Time to replace the entire IM or something else? I think that I have a PS1993870 IM currently. but not sure without emptying freezer and removing the icemaker.
1 Answer Hello Lee. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Rigoberto July 04, 2013 for Model Number Pss25sgmdbs Recently I have bought the internal water valve. I have connected it as well and still no ice is made. I turned off the ice maker for 15 minutes, I turned it back on and then pressed the test button but still no ice. What should I do?
1 Answer Rigoberto, You will want to put the icemaker through a cycle and test to see if the water valve is getting power. If the water valve is not getting power then replace the icemaker. Read More...

Gay M June 20, 2013 for Model Number TFX30PRYAWW My icemaker in my GE Profile Refrigerator makes ice, but in the right rear corner of the ice "bucket", over time, there is a large buildup of ice. This eventually hinders the ability to get the ice to travel to the shute. I have to take out the "bucket" and empty the bucket of all the ice, and then letting this "block" of ice thaw enough to get it out of the bucket. It seems to fill up the tray to make ice as expected, it is just this buildup that is strange. Can you tell me what may be happening here and what can be done about it.
1 Answer Gay, You will want to pull the icemaker out and check to see if the mold of the icemaker is starting to deteriorate. This is the most likely cause and would need to have the icemaker replaced. Also check the fill cup to make sure that there is no ice built up in the cup. If so then you would want to replace the water valve due to seeping, which means allowing a little water to get through the valve even though it is not calling for water. Read More...
Nate June 13, 2013 for Model Number TBX18CIZARWW I received ice maker WR30X10093 which is supposed to be compatible with my refrigerator/freezer GE Model TBX18DIZARWW. This replacement ice maker fills from the center (water emits from a tube in the side wall of the freezer). It came with a spout to direct the water there. The original ice maker filled from the end (water emits from a tube in the back wall of the freezer). The tube in the rear of my freezer is too short to reach the ice maker. The water will pour out into the freezer. There is no provision for the provided spout to attach under the tube at the back of my freezer. Is there a solution? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Nate. WR30X10093 will fill from the end or the side, either way. It is correct for the model number. Read More...
