The 'fingers'n the rotating arm (at least one of them) seem to get stuck on the non- rotating fingers of the front cover. Is this a problem that I can fix as a do-it-yourselfer? Boyd April 10, 2013 for Model Number ge gss25sgmdbs I have an intermittent problem with the ice maker. It will make ice for a 3 or 4 days then stops. When it stops making ice the green led next to the power switch is blinking. Normally the led is on steady. I turn off the ice maker with it's power switch and leave it off for a couple of minutes. When I turn it back on the led is on steady and the ice make will make ice for 3 or 4 days. Is there anything I can do to fix the ice maker or does it need to be replaced?

John Z April 04, 2013 for Model Number GFSS2HCYC SS The icemaker is empty and there is water frozen on the bottom of the freezer. Sometimes I hear it cycle. Not like it used to. There is no ice. Is it the valve or the icemaker.
1 Answer John, You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
