Donna October 22, 2012 for Model Number WR30X10093 My ice-maker does not work. It does not light up. Should I be replacing the entire unit? I have tried turning it off then turning it back on and pushing the arm back three times and it never lights up and nothing happens. Your help is greatly appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Donna. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Big Ron October 16, 2012 for Model Number CSX22GRBA WW Replaced the ice maker with ice maker GEH WR30X10093. Once installed the ice bucket won't slide under without forcing it and twisting the plastic. The face of the new ice maker is taller and the bucket won't fit properly. Is this the right ice maker kit? If not, what kit do I need?
1 Answer Hello Big Ron. This is the only icemaker kit GE offers at this time. In order to install the bucket, you will lift the front of the bucket and slide in the back of the bucket and make sure the wire for the icemaker is out of the way when sliding it back into the unit. Read More...
Ed B September 30, 2012 for Model Number gts18xcsfrbb the ice maker in my freezer does not stop the water from flowing and the water flows out all over the freezeer can this be fixed and a spring inside came out and i cant seem to get it back in
1 Answer Ed, It sounds like your water fill switch has failed, and or the water adjustment screw, spring, linkage and cam wheel, may have become dislodged and is causimg the water valve to remain active at all times. You could remove the ice maker front cover and check the switches and cam linkage etc. But your best and safest bet would be to replace the assembly WR30X10093. Read More...

Sonny September 24, 2012 for Model Number pts25lhsarww Hello, My refrigerator is not making ice. I dont hear water going-up either. Is there a way to activate the water valve before I order one? Maybe the mother board? Maybe the icemaker? How do I know which part to buy? Please advice. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Sonny, The forced cycle is done on a timed basis, so you have to be prepared before getting started. First, unplug the unit for a minimum of 2 minutes. During this time, tape down the freezer door switch. Once this is accomplished, plug the unit back in and within the first 30 seconds after power up, actuate the ice flapper three deliberate times. This should force the ice maker to cycle. If it doesn't cycle and you're sure you went through procedure properly, the ice maker could have an internal issue. If it didn't cycle, you may want to try it several times to make sure since the units are sensitive to the time limitations. Read More...
Chris September 22, 2012 for Model Number Refrigerator:ESS22XGMBWW / ice maker: WR30X10061 we have been having issues with our current icemaker making too much ice and causing the water dispenser to stop working, It appears the feeler arm is not working properly. We end up shuting the freezer down to unfreeze the line. I feel we are down to the last resort and replace the ice maker. Is this new model that replaces the one we have difficult to install?
1 Answer Chris, It won't be difficult at all, If you have "basic" tools and skills. Just remember to remove power to the refrigerator and read the instructions that are supplied with the new icemaker assembly. Now the water tube in the door freezing, check and make sure the freezer door gasket is sealing to the refrigerator cabinet front flange, check for moisture or ice on the inner and outer door liners. and make sure the dispenser flapper is sealing when closed. Check the freezer compartment air temperature( reccomendation would be 3 to 5 dgrs.) and definitely not below 0. Any moisture or ice on the door or liner would indicate an air leak around the door gasket, or a void in the insulation and the door assembly would need to be repalced. Read More...
