For Ge Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly (Part Number: OEM20674845)

Klingsy, If the icemaker is not getting water in it then you will want to check to make sure that the there is power getting to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If this checks ok then the issue will be a faulty water valve. If there is no power then this will be a faulty icemaker.

John, The manufacturer has "replaced" the original ice maker WR30X10012, with the WR30X10093 / WR30X10093 Electro Mechanical Ice Maker Kit. " Per Factory No Individual Parts Available For This Ice maker. Must Replace Ice maker. Includes Adapter Plug # Wr29x10049". " there is instead a small cap with embossed arrows pointing "+" and "-", and an adjusting screw". This upgrade is for adjusting the water level/size of the ice cubes in the ice maker. Under proper conditions(clean filter, proper water pressure-32 psi minimum, etc.) you should not need to adjust the water level. Thanks,

Initially there was no water being dispensed, but did not need that option. Now icemaker stopped working, although green light is on. Checked water source and filter. Checked electrical on water valve (187 ohms). Does not appear that water is getting to icemaker but lines are not frozen. Does this mean the icemaker, even though power light is on, has failed, and no water is getting to tray? In addition, tried to run diagnostic function, but it did not activate a cycle.

DRob, With the icemaker not getting water to it you will want to check to see if the fill tube is clogged. If it is not then cycle the icemaker and see if there is 120 vac getting to the water valve. If there is 120 vac to the water valve then the water valve would most likely be the issue. If there is not 120 vac then this will most likely be a bad icemaker.

Robb, With the icemaker not producing ice, if there is ice formed in the icemaker then this will most likely be an icemeker failure in which the thermostat in the icemaker may have failed.

I noticed the water froze over my ice maker and it never kicked out the ice. I removed the ice maker assembly and cleaned all the ice out. I then installed it back to see if it would work. Well it did the same thing again. It froze the ice maker and the water tray going into the ice maker up solid. So it seems like the water valve isn't cutting the water off. I guess its dripping slowly, or the ice maker isn't kicking the ice out fast enough. It's not kicking out any ice but it's freezing the whole unit solid. I'm not sure which part I need to replace. What is your suggestion?

1 Answer

Josh, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty water valve that is not shutting off completely.

Ray, If you have to run diagnostic then this would most likely be an issue with the icemaker itself.

Barbara, Unfortunately there would be no slide that could be used for this icemaker and the icemaker would need to be replaced.
