John R. July 10, 2017 for Model Number GFSS2HCYHSS My original icemaker started having problems while I was away on vacation. My mother was house sitting and said that water leaked all over the floor. She defrosted the freezer for me and when I got home the ice maker was switched off. After reading and testing, I was able to get one batch of ice and then the led light went out. Reading online led me to believe that the ice maker had gone bad. I just replaced it with model number wr30x10093. The old ice maker had ice in the tray, with larger cubes than normal. The freezer is empty for testing, and I noticed that water was collecting in the ice tray and the bottom of the freezer. There are made cubes in the ice maker tray that will not dump. Water has been collecting on top of the ice there and the "rake" part is frozen to the existing ice. The rake did move for a manual cycle earlier, but not I can't move it. Could the problem be with the heating element, and if so could there be a wiring issue in the freezer itself that led to the problem with both units? This new unit does not have any LED indicator.
1 Answer Hello John, This sounds like there could be an issue with the water valve WR57X10086 or there is an insufficient water pressure supplied to the water valve. I would replace the water valve and thaw out the icemaker with a hair dryer and let it start over. There should be a minimum of about 50 PSI of water pressure supplied to the water and it should not exceed 100 PSI for optimum performance. Read More...
Amy C July 09, 2017 for Model Number PSC25MSTBSS The water has stopped coming out of the dispenser. The ice make makes ice fine but we don't get any water.
1 Answer Amy, You will want to disconnect the water line at the door hinge and then push the dispenser for water to see if water will come out at the hinge from under the unit. If there is then this will be a frozen fill tube and would need to replace the door to correct this issue. If there is no water that comes out then the water valve will be the most likely cause for this issue. Read More...
Ken Pink July 08, 2017 for Model Number GSS22SGPCSS This is the ice maker for my fridge that is listed as correct - but it says the cup is a side fill - my fridge has a center fill. How do i make this work?
1 Answer Ken, The ice maker fill cup can be put on the end of the icemaker or the center back of the icemaker. This is to accommodate different designs. Read More...

Matt June 20, 2017 for Model Number WR30X10093 Hi. I replaced my icemaker about a year ago. Last month, broken pieces of white plastic started coming out with my ice cubes. I investigated and found that a part (not sure what it's called- the white piece that had been hinged in front with seven protrusions, I assume to separate the cubes from the freezing element?) had come loose and been crushed by the corkscrew that carries ice into the chute. Now the icemaker has stopped working. The last batch of cubes is still sitting there, frozen solid to the icemaker. Can I buy just the part that broke and replace it? Is there likely a deeper root cause?
1 Answer Matt, Unfortunately individual parts are not available for the WR30X10093 / WR30X10093 Ice maker kit. " Per Factory No Individual Parts Available For This Icemaker Must Replace Icemaker.Includes Adapter Plug # Wr29x10049 ". You will need to replace the assembly. Thanks, Read More...
Marcy June 14, 2017 for Model Number GSL22jJFLAlb The on and off switch on the Elctromechanical ice maker slid off. Now I cant stop the ice from droppin in the bucket. How do I connect this back. Everything else is working.
1 Answer Marcy, It sounds like the slide may have broken tabs on it for it to slide off and would not be able to be put back on but would have to replace the icemaker for this issue. Read More...
Gil June 09, 2017 for Model Number PSS26PSWCSS My ice maker is not making ice. I replaced the water inlet valve and still not working. Line is not frozen. Poured some water in the mold manually to see if it cycles through. I did but still no water coming out of the tube to fill the mold. Do I need to replace the ice maker itself or just the thermistor? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Gil, You should replace the complete icemaker assembly WR30X10093 to correct the issue. Read More...
Wil Young June 07, 2017 for Model Number CAN9 (wr30x10093) ice maker in GE refrigerator This ice maker (11 years old) is getting "stuck" in some cycle that keeps "filling" the ice molds and running over into the ice bucket to the point of flooding the freezer compartment. I took the cover off the control end and see an adjustment screw with + and - indicators stamped into the end plate. Does this have anything to do with the fill cycle? Or do we need to just replace the whole thing?
1 Answer Wil, If the icemaker fingers stop and it keeps filling then the issue will most likely be a stuck water valve. If the fingers do not make it to the stopping point which should be about the 9 oclock position then the icemaker would need to be replaced. Read More...
Kristen June 07, 2017 for Model Number GSH22JSDd SS The ice maker will make ice but once you push for it to come out it won't stop coming out. I am not sure what part I need to get to fix this problem. Thanks
1 Answer Kristen, With this issue the most likely cause for this will be that the dispenser control board is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Bill April 11, 2017 for Model Number CSXBCBA WH ALSO MT291391 I have 30 volts to the water valve all the time except when it calls for water and then its 120 volt. I replaced the ice maker ind still have the 30 volts and the water valve is not closing and leaking water by freezing the fill tube i have also replaced the water valve 3 times still the same problem --what could cause the 30 volts to valve??????
1 Answer Bill, The 30 volts would be normal getting to the water valve and would not cause the water valve to stay open. If the fill tube is freezing you will want to make sure that the temp in the freezer is not getting too cold. Read More...
