1 Answer Hello Ben. You will need to test for power to the valve. If there is power there, replace the icemaker. If there is no power there, replace the water valve. Matt April 25, 2014 I'm having problems with my ice maker. I found that the water supply line to the refigerator was kinked so water was not getting to the water dispensor or ice maker. I fixed the kink and have water back at the door and freezer but when I turned the ice maker back on I'm still not getting any ice cubes. I do however have a layer of ice on the bottom of the ice drawer. Any thoughts? Is this an ice maker issue or a water line issue?
1 Answer Hello Matt. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. James April 18, 2014 for Model Number PFSF5NWJWA I have a French door GE refrigerator with freezer on the bottom. Ice maker stopped making ice, so I replaced it. New ice maker does not make ice and green light on ice maker is not on. What can be the problem? Water dispenser on the door is still working.
1 Answer James, When the manufacturer redesigned the icemakers they did not put the green light on the unit. As far as the icemaker not making ice you will want to check the fill tube to make sure that it is not frozen. Check to make sure that the icemaker is plugged in all the way and did not back out when installing. If the fill tube and wiring check ok then you will want to check the water valve to make sure that it is getting power when the icemaker calls for water.
