For Ge Module Control Asm (Part Number: OEM11383731)

Bill for Model Number GE Profile PDW8280J01SS

Initially, our dishwasher would not start when the start button was pressed. The appropriate lights were lit, and after some time (overnight) the dishwasher did start and complete the cycle. This happened several times. Now, most of the lights do not come on at all (the Added Heat and Heated Dry lights do come on, and sometimes the Start light flickers for just a second). The Start, Added Heat and Heated Dry buttons beep when pressed, but none of the others beep. Any recommendations on how to proceed? Thanks!

Andrew, You will want to do a voltage check to the control board. If the control board is getting 120vac and there is no display then check to make sure that the ribbon harness is fully seated. If all checks ok then the control board is more than likely faulty and needs to be replaced.

Hello. We have experienced multiple problems with the GE Profile dishwasher. Sometimes the lights on the keypad do not light and the unit will not start. After waiting an hour or so, the unit will automatically start running, but no lights will be on. Another time the unit stopped running, maybe successfully, but then it was beeping every 30 seconds or so. It was beeping with the door open or closed. Other times it just keeps running nonstop. Do I need to replace the Control board (WD21X10215)? Also, the dishwasher is 8 years old, so I'm wondering I should repair or replace. Thanks.

Hello. You will need to replace the control panel WD34X10969 to repair the unit. First check the ribbon cables and make sure they are good on the unit.

Travis, you may not need anything at all. Your dishwasher is probably working "normally". Your dishwasher is equipped with sensors that react to temperature, suds, turbidity, etc. These sensor inputs to the control will extend or shorten the cycle as needed. You may want to start and run the most commonly used cycle empty no detergent etc., this will reset the sensor and control and return to the baseline cycle.

Jerry, You may not need a module at all. First thing to check is the amount of water in tne bottom of the tub. Start the dishwasher and allow to run for five(5) minutes, then unlatch and open the door, remove the lower rack and check the water temperature(120 dgrs. minimum) and water level " Amount of Water – Make sure dishwasher is level. Check water level, allowing dishwasher to fi ll normally for fi rst fi ll. The water level should be to the center of the bottom of the fl oat dome. If water level is low, check for clogged screen in water valve and check float switch." Low water level and or low water temp. can give the impression of not operating properly. Allow the dishwasher to run the complete cycle and make sure the dishwasher fills and drains properly and the drain system is not syphoning the water out of the tub during the cycle.

Hello. My dishwasher has started beeping intermittently. Sometimes the lights don't come on and nothing works, when the lights do eventually come on, we were able to run regular cycles. Now its gotten worse and the washer was stuck washing for about 4 hours today. Before the washer only beeped after the washer was closed and locked in. Today it was beeping even when the door was open, but I think it was because the cycle never finished. Is this a control board issue? Thanks!

Hi Drew. Find the supplied tech sheet inside the inner door panel or behind the toe kick area. You need to put the dishwasher ion a diagnostic mode to individually check each component for that circuit issue. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. It does seem like it can be an intermittent board part # WD21X10215 issue but you need to be sure first if the supply voltage at the junction box is proper 120 vac. Make sure the wire connections have not gotten loose or burnt between the units strande4d wire and the house supply solid wire. Make sure they both intertwine correctly together so that the unit can draw the amperage when needed. How many beeps? Are the door micro switches on the latch part # WD21X10169 supplying the board voltage and the door shuts tight? Make sure all 4-legs are snug on the floor as the unit is leveled front to back and side to side. This will open and break the latch/controls as the unit is unlevel. Check these first. Thank You.

Steve, Sorry, but there is no reset button, and the dishwasher doesn't need to be "primed". Since the unit programs and beeps, you'll need to check the door switches for proper circuitry, and 120 VAC into the control board on the j2 connector from pin 6 to pin 7 and pin 8. If your door switches check proper and the voltage is correct on the j2 harness test, then you'll need the control board assembly. Here's some meter usage information [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html] Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Jeff. You will need to test and see if there is power coming to the motor assembly WD26X10015 during the wash cycle. If so, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the motor assembly. If there is no power to the motor, you will need to replace the control module WD21X10215. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
