I have a really old Frigidair range, probably about 1957, but the range top still works and the oven element just went out this weekend. I use this range down my basement for a second stove and love it. I don't know where to look for the model number to see if I can replace the element. I know it just plugs in the outlet in the oven. Could you tell me where to look for the number and if you think I can still find one. Nothing matches on your repair parts pages. Thanks.

Florence, The majority of the older "plug in" type oven elements have been discontinued by the manufacturers< you may have to remove the receptacle and "rewire" the bake element in a more "permanent" type installation. But we will need to get the model number of your range to check and verify. The model/serial tag is in several possible locations,. In some cases on the very old ranges, the serial tag is located on one of the side panels near the front of the range, it could also be located under the cooktop, or under one of the front burner elements. It could also be fixed to the side or bottom front frame and visible when the oven door is opened, or on the front side frame when the broiler/storage drawer is opened. Hopefully you can find it and we can assist you properly. Thanks,

Albert, Although i could not find a schematic the bake element should be a two wire terminal and can be connected either way.
