Mike May 22, 2018 for Model Number GEW9200LW0 The start switch needs many try's before the motor will start and it hold (keeps running). if I jump out the two top wires #2 and #4 it starts but as soon as I let go of the jumper the motor stops. Is it a start switch or a relay problem? I think it is the start switch. thanks for the help!

Don B February 25, 2018 for Model Number DBSR463GG8WW I've used your outstanding service for many years. Always happy. I ordered the rotary switch AP4980910 last month and you sent several queries about "How did it go". Finally got to the job today. Your video was great. I knew just what to do....however when I took the panel off I found the whole base was plastic NOT metal. The rotary switch problem was that the molded switch holder had deteriorated and no longer held the switch in place, No way for the new switch to fit anywhere since the metal fingers had nothing to grab. Also, the old switch has TWO wires NOT 3 wires. I was able to use seizing wire to hold the old switch in place and the thing works...for now. I now have a brand new shiny dryer switch which I can display and grumble about. I suppose I could learn plastic molding, etc and figure out a way to mount the new switch to the plastic panel.

Brandon July 06, 2017 for Model Number DBXR463EB0WW My on off rotary switch had broken off. I bought a replacement part (WE4X881), and this item has 2 prongs on the back of it. The one inside my dryer has 3 prongs, although every place I have searched online shows that part #WE4X881 is the correct part. Any idea if it will still work, or if it is indeed the wrong part?

Ali April 17, 2017 for Model Number DBXR463EGWW Our rotary switch will no longer turn on our dryer. So we ordered this new rotary switch. The only problem we are having is that the old switch just had two "prongs" for wires to hook up to labeled 1 and 2. But this new part has three "prongs" labeled 2, 3, and 4. We only have the two wires currently on the old part to connect to the new one and we are not sure how to arrange the wires on the new switch. One is brown and the other is gray.

Mike February 20, 2017 for Model Number DBXR463EG6WW I ordered a replacement start switch, AP4980910 for my GE electric dryer. The switch has 3 terminals, marked "2", "3" and "4" (there's no "1"). The dryer has 3 wires that go to the switch: a dark brown (which is a single wire that runs into a hole on left side of dryer); a light brown double wire (which is connected to the clothes care cycle switch and also runs into hole in right side of dryer); and a double red wire (which runes into hole on left side and is connected to another box of some sort). Which wires gets connected to which terminal? Thanks.
